On December 11, reports emerged of BTS’ Jin and chef Baek Jong-won collaborating on a distilled liquor called IGIN, set to launch this month through Jini's Lamp and distributed by Yesan Doga. As the news spread among BTS fans, BIGHIT MUSIC responded, stating they could not confirm the report's accuracy.

The statement read:

"We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to confirm.”

As the official statement by the agency was out, fans took to X to share their opinions on it. Fans believed that if the liquor business was separated from BIGHIT MUSIC and was the private business of Jin, the agency would not be aware of or be able to make any comments regarding the same. Fans also noticed that the trademark of Jini's Lamp was allegedly registered under Jin's name.

“Because it's not for them to confirm, because it's Kim Seokjin's business and not under Bighit! Oh.. Jinhit is happening.”- a fan said.
“Why they need to confirm? It’s Jin personal business, BigHit is actually out of the picture! That’s why I’m honestly thankful Jin knows how to separate his work and personal schedule!”- a user wrote.
“Hard to confirm when an entire IG account has already been made with all the marketing materials?”- a fan said.

Fans continued to share amusing reactions to BIGHIT MUSIC’s statement about BTS' Jin's reported business.

“Not defending the company but this is just an appropriate response because i don't think they have a say for things outside of artist activities”- a fan stated.
“OMG KIM SEOKJIN YOU ARE A SCARY MAN!!! YOUR AGENCY DOESN'T EVEN KNOW YOU BECOME A CEO!”- another fan stated.
“Because it's Seokjin's business, it has nothing to do with Bsht”- a user added.

More about BTS’ Jin's joint company Jini's Lamp with chef Baek Jong-won and the distilled alcohol IGIN

BTS’ Jin and chef Baek Jong-won are known to have formed a bond over the past few years. Baek Jong-won also appeared on Jin's solo YouTube show The Drunken Truth in 2022. On December 11, the reports of their liquor business emerged creating curiosity about the product among netizens.

The BTS vocalist and Baek Jong-won are reportedly preparing to launch ‘IGIN’ through Jini's Lamp and Yesan Doga. As per the reports, Yesan Doga is an agriculture corporation that was formed through a dual investment between South Korean celebrities.

Yesan Doga is affiliated with Baek Jong-won’s company The Born Korea which will reportedly be in charge of distributing IGIN. Meanwhile, Jini's Lamp is another corporation established by the two stars in Yesan-gun, South Chungcheong Province, in December 2022. Jini's Lamp will play a key role in the business as a manufacturing entity.

Notably, IGIN is reported to be a traditional liquor that has characteristic elements coming from Yesan which is Baek Jong-won’s hometown. Furthermore, besides being a distilled alcohol IGIN will also be ready-to-drink (RTD) alcohol as well. The RTD alcohol will be made using different fruits like apples, watermelons, and plums. These fruits are agriculturally produced in Yesan-gun.

In other news, Jin dropped his first solo album Happy on November 15, 2024, as the last member of BTS to do so.
