On October 14, 2024, Korean mobile application company LYSN announced that NCT Jaehyun's DearU Bubble service would be temporarily put on hold, starting from November 4, 2024. This announcement came ahead of the idol's military enlistment on November 4, 2024.

This sudden news of temporary suspension took many fans by surprise, making them realize the inevitability of the situation. NCTzens took to social media to express their feelings as the time of his departure drew closer.

"its getting real..." shared one fan.
"its getting closer to that day," - a fan said.
"reality is hitting me now... it’s really not a joke," - a fan realised.
"my miserable life starts now... pls just kill me," - a fan reacted.

A fan commented wishing for the artist to use Instagram to provide his updates every once in a while.

"Omgjfjfjfjdmfnfjfjjff jaehyun plz use instagram like taeyong be doing PLEATHEEEE," - the comment read.
"it just keeps getting worse here," - another fan sadly expressed.
"not a good day for me to open this app," - an X user said.

Another fan expressed how Bubble messages from Jaehyun were her favorite thing. They referred to him as 'O O' which is the singer's profile name on Bubble.

"no messaged fromㅇㅇ....... my one and only favorite notification...," - the comment read.
"18 months without his random pap, "fighting for this week" text...," - another X user reacted.
"no jaehyun bbl for the next 20 months girl whos going to be okay," - a fan tweeted.

Jaehyun's Bubble has been popular among K-pop fans after singer-rapper Lee Young-ji talked about his way of using the application on her popular YouTube talk show, No Prepare. In 2022, she mentioned how well NCT singer uses the 'y/n' feature. In September 2024, during the promotion of his first solo album J, the host brought it up again, giving way to some hilarious moments.


NCT Jaehyun to join Army Band

On September 26, 2024, SM Entertainment confirmed the news of the singer's enlistment in the military on November 4. After which the Smoke's singer penned a heartfelt message on online platform Bubble for his fans thanking them for loving and trusting him. He wrote:

"I will continue to work hard as I look back on our memories and anticipate the future that is to come. We're uncontionally timeless."

The company also announced on Weverse that during the idol's enlistment schedule, no public event will be held to protect the privacy and safety of soldiers and recruits. Sports Chosun reported that the singer received an acceptance notification from the Military Manpower Administration for the Army Band.

Jaehyun is expected to be discharged from his military service on May 3, 2026. He has become the second person in the group to join the military after Taeyong. Taeyong joined the Navy's military band in April and is currently serving as culture and public relations officer.
