On Thursday, June 27, BTS’ Kim Taehyung dropped the 'TYPE 1' #1 photobook on the concept poster through the official social media page of the group. The 'TYPE 1' concept poster has created a huge buzz among the netizens, as they see the relaxing and carefree side of the BTS member. The monochromatic poster is set in a film reel style, showcasing multiple images featuring Kim Taehyung.
Netizens could not help but draw a comparison between the 'TYPE 1' concept poster and the concept images of V's solo debut album Layover, which was officially released in September 2023. Fans highlighted that the two projects have one thing in common, which is the summer beach and the grayscale in some photographs.

On June 25, BIGHIT MUSIC made a surprising announcement confirming the release of the 'TYPE 1' photobook and the magazine featuring BTS member Kim Taehyung.
According to the agency, V has personally participated in all aspects of the creation of the photobook and the magazine. Kim Taehyung has contributed from planning and filming locations to working on the title of the book.
The photobook, which consists of 224 pages, is scheduled to be released on July 9, 2024, on Weverse Shop Global. July 9 is celebrated as the birthday of BTS’ fandom, ARMY, as the name was given to fans on this day in 2013. The photobook set will also include other merchandise like a bookmark, a postcard set, and different types of stickers.
The agency described 'TYPE 1' as:
“This photobook captures V’s moments of complete rest, revealing his comfortable and natural self as he takes a break from his busy schedule to enjoy some time alone.”
'TYPE 1' will also be released in a magazine version that is made of 152 pages, which will be easy to carry for fans given its size. It is to be noted that the magazine will not have some chapters that are showcased in the photobook version.
Kim Taehyung has received appreciation from netizens for his thoughtful act towards nature, as the production of the photobook and magazine used biodegradable soy ink for printing. On the other hand, the paper used for this project was also approved by the Forest Stewardship Council.
The 'TYPE 1' magazine will be released on August 6, 2024, on Weverse Shop Global.
