In October 2024, BLACKPINK's Jennie is scheduled to make a much-awaited comeback to the solo music landscape. In collaboration with her record label, OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER), the BLACKPINK rapper signed with Columbia Records as a solo artist.
"Jennie has signed a partnership with major USA record label Columbia Records and will make her comeback with a solo single in October," (as reported and translated by Koreaboo).
Columbia Records and OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) posted on their respective official X accounts and confirmed their partnership. They captioned it:

Fans were thrilled over the latest development and expressed their enthusiasm for her upcoming album. They swamped social media platforms as they trended several phrases and hashtags like "SHE'S COMING!!," "JENNIE IS COMING," #JENNIExOAxColumbiaRecords. One fan tweeted:

Fans flooded social media and expressed their joy over the news. Some fans called her a genius for signing with the American Label that has artists like Beyoncé, Harry Styles, and Miley Cyrus, among others.
"OBSESSED with the little star in the middle of her name like it’s so fitting because since debut Jennie Kim has always been the ultimate star of the show. A global superstar who will never stop shinning," one fan exclaimed.

Several fans mentioned how long they have waited for the BLACKPINK idol to announce her album and that the wait is over.

The BLACKPINK rapper and her members parted ways with their previous label, YG Entertainment, in December 2023. She debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016 alongside Lisa (Lalisa Manobal), Jisoo (Kim Ji-soo), and Rosé (Roseanne Park MBE).
On December 24, 2023, she announced the launch of her company, ODDATELIER aka OA Entertainment. Following her, Lisa established her company, LLOUD, on February 7, 2024, while Jisoo launched her label, BLISSOO, on February 17.
