TWICE vocalist Jeongyeon opened up about her sincere feelings towards fans, including moments when they made her upset. Following the HOME 9ROUND fan meetings in Seoul, on October 20, Jeongyeon took to the Bubble app to express her gratitude for the love and support the group has received throughout their nine-year musical career.
The idol shared:
“Thank you for cheering for, cherishing, and loving us for the past 9 years. We can't always be happy, but the times we spent with ONCE were so precious and happy that they made us forget the hard times! I'm serious.”
In her message, she further explained her feelings with sincerity towards her fans, aka ONCE, stating:
“Sometimes. There were times when I hated ONCE and times when I was hurt. I'm sure ONCE has done that to us at least once? haha But I like that because I think all of this has made us closer and more meaningful!! I'll do my best so that I can remain as ONCE for the rest of my life, so watch over me.”
Netizens quickly took to social media to voice their thoughts on the TWICE member's post on Bubble. One fan on X tweeted:
“Jeongyeon was so real for this."
Several other fans echoed similar sentiments and praised her honesty.
"Her honesty is so refreshing because let’s face it many people in the fandoms, any fandom, treat their idols like garbage and forget their idols can be hurt and they can hate them too so this is a nice wake up call,” another fan said.
“This is the best sign of a healthy relationship. Between artists and fans, this is a new high no one can easily reach. The trust she has on us to be open, and the love the fans have to be accepting is so pure,” an X user stated.
Moreover, netizens reacted positively while extending their support to the TWICE vocalist for being honest with fans.
“Something hit her and let her feelings talk. i'm happy that Jeongyeon can tell us everything with honesty and maybe this an eye-opener to us Once that they are aware of what we're saying and it affects them,” a fan reacted.
“I genuinely need more idols to be this open… bc a lot of yall take them for granted and think you can talk and act a certain way to them bc you stan them like no that’s not cute,” an X user commented.
“Jeongyeon said yes I love my fans but also yes I hate when some of you treat me like garbage because it hurts, this is a nice wake up call that the money you spent on them doesn’t warrant you to act however you like,” another X user commented.
