TVING is set to release its upcoming K-drama, Queen Woo, starring Ji Chang-Wook, Lee Soo-hyuk, and Jeon Jung-seo on August 29, 2024. The story centers on Queen Woo as she becomes the center of a dangerous power struggle against powerful people amid a backdrop of political intrigue.
Five opposing clans along with its aspirational princes rise up and fight for power after the unexpected death of the monarch. The late monarch's wife and queen, Woo-hee, is left with an impossible task where she has to choose a new king within a dangerous 24-hour span to protect her kingdom.
On July 31, 2024, TVING dropped the teaser clip of the upcoming drama. It provides an overview of the intense turmoil that followed King Go Nam-moo's (Ji-Chang-wook) untimely death in a battle.
The video shows the pandemonium that ensues as Woo-hee struggles to stabilize her family and thwart the forces from the five other clans, who aim to invade her kingdom.

On July 31, 2024, TVING dropped the latest teaser posters on its official Instagram account. The primary plot points of the drama are shown effectively in the released posters.
In the first teaser poster, Woo-hee is seen wearing a golden robe and crown, while the dead king's figure appears behind her, signifying the weight of her loss and the subsequent fight for power.
The second image shows the queen with a bow and armor, highlighting her transformation from regal authority to warrior resolve. The Korean passage "The king's death, I must survive on my own" written on the poster alludes to the dramatic and difficult voyage the queen will have to take to make her way across the perilous terrain of power and secure her existence.
Queen Woo would be Ji Chang-wook's third historical period drama after Warrior Baek Dong-soo (2011) and Empress Ki (2013-2014). Lee Soo-hyuk joined the stellar cast for his fourth-period drama after Deep Rooted Tree (2011) and Scholar Who Walks The Night (2015) along with the semi-period K-Drama Tomorrow (2022).
Meanwhile, Jeon Jong-seo was previously seen in Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area (2022) and the Korean film Ballerina (2023).
