Season 2 of the popular culinary reality show Jinny's Kitchen, featuring Park Seo-joon, Lee Seo-jin, Choi Woo-shik, and Jung Yu-mi, premiered on June 28, 2024, at 8:40 pm KST. Go Min-si joined the cast as the new intern, replacing Kim Tae-hyung, who is currently serving in the South Korean military. The show relocated from Bacalar, Mexico, where season 1 was set, to Reykjavík, Iceland.

The finale episode of the show aired on September 6, 2024. The cast concluded the show with some discussions, games, and exploring the city. The previous episodes had the cast working hard through the days and evenings to ensure the restaurant ran smoothly.

Jinny's Kitchen 2 review: Comforting but monotonous

While Jinny's Kitchen 2 started well, viewers were not left with much to look forward to as the episodes progressed. Seasoned chefs Jung Yu-mi and Park Seo-joon showed their prowess when they had to take charge of the kitchen. While rookie chef Choi Woo-shik initially struggled to keep up with the pressure, he learned to brace himself and do his job the right way.

Go Min-si shined as the intern and impressed Seo-jin. As the staff worked through busy hours, they faced everything from ingredient shortages to missed payments.

In the first episode, the cast got together, learned to cook their respective dishes, and prepared to open the restaurant. It also had them travel to a different country. Their struggles with the climate and their awe at looking at the scenic view were fresh, but the following episodes did not add much to it.

The restaurant adopts a Chef's Responsibility system, with different chefs taking the lead daily. However, other than the different ways of working, there was not much that changed apart from the head chef being changed. The few additions were Choi Woo-shik's birthday celebrations and the Invitation Day.

With customers lining up outside the restaurant each day, the cast did their best to make each one of them happy. As they stayed busy, there was not much scope left for any fun interaction. Viewers do not get to see much other than the cast working hard in the kitchen and managing the crowd, and at the end of the day, they are tired and go home to rest. In the morning, they get ready to open the restaurant again.

While the episodes might seem almost repetitive, they are comforting to watch. In the chilly and cold Iceland weather, Jinny's Kitchen is a cozy and warm corner where the residents can come to enjoy Korean cuisine. Moreover, the first and last episodes follow a different format. At the end of it all, the team gathers to discuss their sales and play a few games together.

Overall, the show feels warm and comfortable, and viewers can unwind and rest while watching the crew work. However, other than watching their favorite stars at work in a different environment, Jinny's Kitchen 2 might not have enough interesting elements to keep the viewer's attention throughout the episodes.
