On May 16, 2024, the South Korean media outlet Daily Sports reported that Jo Bo-ah was reportedly in talks to play Kim Soo-hyun's first love and customs officer in the upcoming black comedy drama Knock Off.

In response, Jo Bo-ah's agency XYZ studio announced that she was positively considering appearing in the upcoming romance drama Knock Off. Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-eun were previously in talks to star in the series.

The media outlet OSEN reported that Kim Soo-hyun was positively reviewing the casting offer after getting the script for the upcoming Disney+ series on March 21, 2024.

Kim Si-eun was also reported in talks for the drama by the outlet on April 1, 2024. In response, the agency GOLD MEDALIST reported that the actress was positively considering the offer.


Kim Soo-hyun starrer Knock Off would be helmed by Park Hyun-suk

Knock Off, also known as Neok Opeu, is an upcoming Disney+ romance and black comedy drama that would showcase several stories based on counterfeit luxury products and goods. Set in the backdrop of the 1997 foreign exchange crisis to the 2000s, it would unfold the interesting tale of the market excelling in selling duped products.

Jo Bo-ah, Kim Soo-hyun, and Kim Si-eun will lead the upcoming drama Knock Off as the leading protagonist of the series. If Jo Bo-ah accepts the casting offer, she will be chronicling the character of Kim Soo-hyun's first love and customs officer. No details regarding the name and other features of the actress's character have been revealed yet.

Additionally, the details regarding the other two main characters have not been disclosed by the production team yet. It has been reported that Kim Soo-hyun would be playing the role of the leader of the counterfeit market. The other actors who would join the cast for the upcoming series Knock Off include Yoo Jae-myung, Go Gyu-pil, and others.

The series would be helmed by director Park Hyun-suk, who is known for projects including Song of the Bandits, Hometown, Stranger season 2, Just Dance, Uncontrollably Fond, The Happy Lover, and others.

Knock Off would be penned by the screenwriter Han Jung-hoon, known for the series, including My Fellow Citizens!, Missing 9, Bad Guys, 38 Task Force, Vampire Prosecutor seasons 1 and 2, The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos, and others.

Meanwhile, Park Hyun-suk and Han Jung-joon are set to reunite for the upcoming black comedy drama Knock Off, as they previously worked together for the Netflix series Song of the Bandits.

In recent news, Jo Bo-ah appeared in the South Korean variety tvN entertainment program called Europe - South of France Outside the Tent and is occupied filming the upcoming historical and romance drama, Hong Rang. She also appeared in Destined with You alongside Rowoon.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun ruled the entertainment industry with his smash hit Netflix series Queen of Tears. The actor acted alongside Kim Ji-won in the series, in which he impressed fans with his onscreen chemistry with the actress.


No filming schedule, release date, or other details have been announced for the upcoming drama Knock Off.
