On Wednesday, October 30, the Korean news outlet Sports Kyunghyang reported that a netizen accused BTS' Taehyung of violating military law. This netizen is claimed to be a LE SSERAFIM fan, and the accusation was related to the idol's contact with the former ADOR CEO, Min Hee-jin. Recently, during a live broadcast, as per Sports Kyunghyang, Min Hee-jin talked about her contact with BTS' V.

She stated that the idol often reached out to her during his military enlistment, to check up on her and ask if she was okay amid the various conflicts that have been taking place between Min Hee-jin, HYBE, and ADOR. Additionally, Min revealed that the idol wished her at the dawn of her birthday, with a cheerful tone that moved her.

Subsequently, the aforementioned netizen filed a complaint to the Military of Defense, accusing the BTS member of violating the military law. They stated that according to the information in the text sent from the idol to Min Hee-jin, it was during the idol's military trainee period. The netizen explained that it is against the law to use cell phones during one's trainee period. Here's what the petition read:

“Soldier V sent a text message in the early hours. The date was December 16, 2023, which is 5 days after V enlisted date of December 11, and it appears he sent the text message while still a trainee soldier."

Their petition continued,

"This is a serious violation of military law, and I suspect that the officers might have turned a blind eye to his cellphone use because he's a famous K-pop idol.”

When the information regarding this complaint landed on the internet, fans were both confused and angered. Many people felt that it was extreme of someone to file a case against the K-pop idol, and called out their alleged deliberate act to bring down BTS' Taehyung and the group members. Here are a few reactions on X to the recent accusations against the idol:

"This is so jobless behavior," one fan said.
"Fearnots love to insert themselves to everything MHJ related lol," said a user on X.
"FEARNOTs are so unserious. Filing a complaint over a conversation?? Had enough," stated another fan.
"Fearnots vs. Armys. I'm seated for this "sibling fandom" fight," commented a netizen.

More fans and netizens came forward to talk about how the accusation doesn't make sense, as using cell phones during service isn't entirely illegal.

"This is too much," commented a fan.
"Is funny how people twist the stories like what world are we in that military can’t use phone. Tell me if you have never been in military," added another fan.
"Lol, you can use your phone at night time in military, does that fans are stupid or what," stated an X user.
"Why they want to be included so bad?" added another netizen.

Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin talks about her relationship with BTS' Taehyung

On October 30, Min Hee-jin appeared on Kim Young-dae's School of Music live show on YouTube. During the same, she explained that BTS' Taehyung often contacted her from the military during her ongoing feud with HYBE and ADOR. She further mentioned that most of Taehyung's texts were to make sure she was okay amid the conflicts, saying:

"V calls me sometimes from the military. He's so bright and bubbly. Even though I was going through something like this, he called me cheerfully and said, 'Are you okay?'"

She continued,

"I was grateful that he worried a lot. He sent me a text message at dawn on my birthday from the military. I thought he was a really sweet kid, and I was touched."

Min Hee-jin's birthday falls on December 16, and the netizen who reported Taehyung as allegedly violating the military law used this fact to point to his usage of cell phones during his training period. On the other hand, it wasn't just Taehyung that the netizen pointed out in their petition to the Ministry of National Defense. They also alluded to BTS' SUGA's DUI case which recently transpired, mentioning:

"I hope they conduct a thorough investigation. There was also a case where a member of the same group, SUGA (Min Yoon-gi), was caught drunk driving while performing public service. I plan to share this report with the community.”

Regardless, fans and netizens have not been happy with the accusations against Taehyung. Moreover, there have also been discussions about the legitimacy of the claim that the netizen is a LE SSERAFIM fan.
