On October 18, following the success of Netflix's Culinary Class Wars, JTBC network announced the revival of Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, a variety-cooking show. The JTBC show ran for five years from November 2014 to November 2019.

The revival of the five-year old show comes after the interest in the restaurant industry and star chefs is at a peak, globally. A JTBC official told Heral Pop, a Korean news outlet that the newer season of the show is scheduled to air in 2025. However, the cast is yet to be decided.

"Please Take Care of My Refrigerator has been revived and is preparig to air within the year. The cast has not been decided yet."

Please Take Care of My Refrigerator: a cooking-variety show using ingredients from guests' refrigerator

JTBC's Please Take Care of My Refrigerator ran for five years from 2014 to 2019. It revolved around the best Korean chefs raiding the refrigerators of guests to elevate the status of unloved refrigerator ingredients. Each episode features guests' refrigerators being brought to the study where famous chefs would create dishes within 15 minutes.

The show involved chefs and food counselors, who would solve the worries of the refrigerator's owner. It is a cooking talk show which was extremely popular during its run-time with various celebrities appearing on the show as counselors or refrigerators. In 2017, two of the BTS members, Jin and Jimin appeared on the show and also danced for the audience.

Other celebrities like SHINee's Key, INFINITE's Sunggyu and even popular British chef, Gordon Ramsay made their appearance on the show. The Culinary Class War's star chef Choi Hyun-seok has also appeared on the show.


About Culinary Class Wars

Netflix's Culinary Class War' has been a hot topic domestically and internationally. The show invited and garnered great interest from global viewers in the restaurant or food industry and star chefs. This has piqued the interest of many broadcasters including JTBC.

The show featured one hundred elite chefs divided into two classes: white spoons (celebrity chefs) and black spoons (non-celebrity chefs) who competed for the prize of 300 million Won or $230,000. The two judges on the show were veteran restauranteur and celebrity chef, Paik Jon-won, and the only Michelin three-star chef in Korea, Anh Sung-jae.

Culinary Class Wars included various celebrity chefs including Choi Hyun-seok, Choi Kang-rok, Edward Lee, Fabrizio Ferrari, Joseph Lidgerwood, Seonkyoung Longest, and more. Napoli Mafia was crowned as the winner of the first season who had his final battle with Edward Lee.

Two of the contestants from the Culinary Class Wars, Chef Im Tae-hoon, 'the Self-made Chef' and Chef Yoon Nam-no the ' Cooking Maniac' will be teaming up with celebrity chef Baek Jong-won on a new entertainment show titled Les Miserables. The show is currently in production and is expected to air on ENA in November 2024.

The first season of Culinary Class Wars was released on Netflix and aired from September 17 to October 8, 2024. Following the success of the first season, Culinary Class Wars' is confirmed for a second season building excitement for a higher stake show.
