All you need to know about Love Next Door's Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min's appearance on Melon
Love Next Door is a recent K-drama series, starring the South Korean actors, Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min. The story revolves around a woman who comes back to her home country, Korea, in an effort to reboot her life. During her return, she gets reacquainted with her childhood friend.
The show is premiered on August 17, and a new episode is released every Saturday and Sunday. It's available to stream through Netflix or tvN. In promotions of the show, the two stars, Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min appeared on Melon to give more insights into the show and their characters.
One of the events that helped viewers understand more about the characters was the diary entry the two actors made, in the shoes of the Love Next Door protagonists. This is what Jung Hae-in wrote as his character, Choi Seung-hyo:
"Ah, seriously, I must be crazy. What was I thinking? It’s driving me crazy. Did I really say, 'I think I’m going to lose my mind because of you?' Ah, Choi Seung Hyo, you’re really losing your mind! I've known Bae Seok-ryu for decades already. Why is this happening now, seriously?"
His diary entry continued,
"She’s just a childhood friend, though. Ah. Why is Baek Seok-ryu suddenly coming to Korea and causing this mess? Bae Seok-ryu just messed up my perfect life! Isn’t this seriously going to be my biggest life embarrassment? Can someone please tell me what to do in this situation? This makes my head hurt…"
The entry explained how Choi Seung-hyo was battling the feelings he was developing towards his childhood friend who reentered his life. On the other hand, this is what Jung So-min wrote, in the shoes of her character, Baek Seok-ryu:
"Did Choi Seung-hyo always look like that? I clearly remember when he first started swimming and when he grew taller than me, but today, he feels different from the Choi Seung-hyo I remember. Wait... Why do I remember him in such detail? Well, he’s my friend, so of course, I remember the memories we shared"
Baek Seok-ryu, through this diary entry, is also starting to fall for her childhood friend and is beginning to see him in a romantic light. However, she's yet to fully realize it and is dismissive of the emotion by labeling him as just a childhood friend. On the other hand, the viewers also got a little insight into the actors and their Love Next Door characters' musical tastes.
