Are You Sure?! episode 6, starring BTS' Jungkook and Jimin, aired on Disney+ on September 5, 2024. In the latest episode, the Standing Next To You singer and Jimin went to a convenience store to get midnight snacks right after arriving in Sapporo, Japan.
At the store, Jungkook mentioned being hungry and pretended to get angry over buying ramen as it was taking too long at the billing counter. Jimin asked Jungkook the reason for his agitation, to which the latter hilariously replied that he was pretending to be dramatic to add flair to the show.
The clip went viral online, and some fans speculated that the Standing Next To You singer expressed his frustration towards filming Are You Sure?! amidst his busy schedule. For the unversed, Jungkook was busy promoting his debut solo album, GOLDEN, across North America in November 2023. It was the same time when he and Jimin flew to Japan to film Are You Sure?!
One fan highlighted the singer's alleged frustration towards the show and wrote on X,
"oh jungkook don't end them like that"
Some other fans also claimed that Jungkook was exhausted due to his hectic schedule with GOLDEN's promotion. They added that he didn't get the opportunity to rest due to the filming of Are You Sure?! ahead of his military enlistment in December 2023.
"The show was a job oki, got it Jungkookie," a fan wrote.
"The fact that jungkook wasn’t just angry for 1 day, but it was A FEW days really says smthg, he could have more time to rest, prepare & promote his album instead," another fan stated.
"The way he keeps expressing his frustration being on that stupid show i'll never forgive bh for making him do this when he was exhausted," another fan mentioned.
However, several other fans shared opposing views and highlighted that Jungkook clearly said, "It is for the show," meaning that he was pretending to be angry to add a dramatic flair to the show. ARMYs claimed that some fans blew the scene out of proportion by creating false narratives.
"Why are you changing his words! He didn't say because of this show? He said "it's for the show" big difference! But ofc tkkers will change the narrative to fit their ship," one fan wrote.
"Jungkook made that comment to joking about being angry to make the show entertaining which does not mean the shows scripted and also he played off his agitation at not being able to immediately eat bc he didn’t shower…yall deliberately being daft about it," another fan highlighted.
"Oh honey they know exactly what jk meant but it doesn't please their narratives so they create things to comfort themselves," one other fan said.
Are You Sure?! episode 6 takes Jimin and Jungkook to Japan's Sapporo after seven years
The eight-episode escapade, Are You Sure?!, features BTS members Jimin and Jungkook before they enlisted in the South Korean military. Episode 6 was filmed in Sapporo, Japan, and marked the beginning of the last leg of season 1.
Jimin and Jungkook landed in Japan on November 25, 2023, as shown at the beginning of the episode. The two were excited to spend three days in the snowy winter in Sapporo. Their first destination was a convenience shop where they bought instant ramen and triangle gimbap.
While eating ramen and gimbap for dinner at the hotel, Jungkook shared how the BTS leader, Kim Namjoon (RM), wrote a letter to him during the former's GOLDEN Live on Stage Concert. He mentioned that he was touched by RM's handwritten note and how the leader came to see his concert.
The next day in Are You Sure?! episode 6, the two BTS members set out to explore Sapporo. Jimin and Jungkook took several pictures and set out to have breakfast and catch the train, thinking about how they would soon miss this view while shoveling snow at the South Korean military.
Afterward, the two went to a ramen shop for spicy Miso ramen and some chasu don. The BTS members traveled on a Japan sub (train), tasted aged whiskey and bourbon at a popular whiskey-tasting store, and continued teasing one another throughout Are You Sure?! episode 6.
Are You Sure?! episode 7 will be released on September 12, 2024. All episodes of the reality travel show are available for global streaming on Disney+.
