The Golden Maknae released his fan song, Never Let Go, on June 7, 2024, through BigHit Music to commemorate the group's 11th anniversary event, BTS Festa 2024. According to BigHit Music, the track was a heartfelt tribute to the idol's fan who has been through thick and thin with the group throughout the years.
The two-minute and forty-six-second song Never Let Go was written by Anton Martin Mendo, Bak, Jess Bluu, Jungkook, Melanie Joy Fontana, Nichel Lindgren Schulz, Sim Fane, and Tobias Dekker. It was produced by Bak, Sim Fane, Star Boy, and Outtatown.
After the song's release, BTS member Jungkook wrote a heartfelt letter on the South Korean social media platform Weverse on June 7, 2024, asking fans if they liked the track and expressing his regret for not recording a performance video for Never Let Go.
The male artist went on thanking the fans for being with them for eleven years and stated, as translated by X user @btsinthemoment:
