On July 7, 2024, CHANNEL CANDY announced that American rapper Ye, also known as Kanye West, will reportedly hold his first solo show in South Korea on August 23. The listening party show will be at Gyeonggi Goyang Stadium in Ilsan to promote his album, Vultures 1, which was released on February 10, 2024.

On July 6, American singer and songwriter, Ty Dolla $ign, uploaded a poster of Vultures Listening Experience on his Instagram account. Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign's album, Vultures 1, has 16 tracks including the song, Carnival.

In 2010, Kanye West appeared at the Summer Week&T event, which took place in Yangyang, Gangwon Province's Naksan Beach, in South Korea. His concert in August 2024 will mark his return to the country after 14 years.

Global media brand CHANNEL CANDY, which specializes in music, is a subsidiary of its parent company NEXTIS. The Korea Herald reported CHANNEL CANDY mentioned that Ye will be involved with the creative direction of his South Korean listening party.

"Ye will be showcasing special stages at this concert. He will be working closely with Channel Candy for creative directing of the show to meet the audiences’ expectations."

The album was supposed to be released in early 2023. However, after several delays, Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West eventually released their hip-hop debut studio album, Vultures 1, in February 2024.

News outlet The Guardian reported that Nicki Minaj allegedly withdrew from the project because of Kanye West's antisemitic remarks, which resulted in the late release of this album. Nicki Minaj was supposed to feature on the song, New Body in Vultures 1.

An homage to plastic surgery, New Body, was originally intended for Ye's unreleased album Yandhi in 2018. The song was re-recorded for his 2019 album, Jesus Is King.

However, because of his several antisemitic remarks, Ye faced massive criticism from netizens and political leaders, including the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Several brands severed their connections with Ye shortly after his comments, including Adidas.

On February 10, 2024, the English musician and lead vocalist of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, tweeted on X that Ye sought permission to sample a LIVE 1983 segment of his song, IRON MAN. The song hails from Black Sabbath's 1970 album, Paranoid. However, Ye was denied permission. Osbourne stated that Ye still used the IRON MAN sample n Vultures 1.

It is crucial to note that Ye's album does not include the LIVE sample, according to The Economic Times.

In other news, XXL Mag reported that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign might perform new songs from their upcoming album, Vultures 2, at the South Korean listening party on August 23, 2024.
