tvN network's Queen of Tears has achieved recognition this award season by winning awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) and Asian Television Awards (ATA). Queen of Tears, starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, has become the only Korean drama to win at these awards ceremonies.

Queen of Tears won the Best Directing Award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) in Singapore, and it bagged the Best Screenplay Award at the Asian Television Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Fans of the series celebrated this milestone by showering supportive comments and compliments on the internet. One of the fans expressed:

The tvN drama that debuted on March 9 was co-directed by Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won who were awarded the Best Directing Award at the AACA. It was written by Park Ji-eun, who has also worked on scripts for various hit K-dramas such as Kim Soo-hyun starrer My Love from the Star, Legend of the Blue Sea, Crash Landing on You, and more. Park Ji-eun won the Best Screenplay at the ATA.

A Bloody Lucky Day and Mask Girl's Yeom Hye Ran also won at the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards along with Queen of Tears.

A Bloody Lucky Day follows the story of a taxi driver whose day turns upside down as his high-paying passenger turns out to be a serial killer. It stars Lee Sung-min, Yoo Yeon-seok (When The Phone Rings), and Lee Jung-eun (The Frog). The series won the Best Original Production by a Stream (Fiction) award. Based on a webtoon of the same name, it is a TVING original drama that aired on November 20, 2023.

Mask Girl's Yeom Hye-ran bagged the Best Actress award in a Supporting Role. She portrayed Kim Kyung-ja, the overprotective mother of Oh-nam, capturing her character's obsession with seeking revenge on Kim Mo-mi, aka the Mask Girl, for the murder of her son.


Queen of Tears earned multiple awards and nominations in 2024

Queen of Tears premiered on March 9, 2024; since then, it has earned multiple nominations and awards. By early April, the show had already surpassed one billion views, setting a new milestone. It became the first K-drama in tvN's history to achieve this.

From the APAN Star Awards to the MAMA Awards to the Seoul International Drama Awards, the series has been nominated for various award categories, such as Best Actor/Actresses, Best OST, Best Drama, Best Direction, Best Scriptwriting, and more.

Queen of Tears has won multiple Best Drama awards at ceremonies, including Brand of the Year Awards, Korean Drama Awards, and Seoul International Drama Awards. The main cast, including Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, have bagged the Best Actor and Actress awards at the Brand of the Year Awards. They also were awarded the Best Couple Award at the Korea Drama Awards.

Queen of Tears' original soundtracks include The Reasons of My Smile by BSS (sub-unit of SEVENTEEN), Love You With All My Heart by Crush, and More Than Enough by ZEROBASEONE's Kim Tae-rae.

They all have earned the Best K-drama OST at the Seoul International Drama Awards (The Reasons of My Smile), the 2024 MAMA Awards (Love You With All My Heart), and the Korea Drama Awards (More Than Enough).
