On the 16th, Story J Company confirmed that Kim Jung-hyun will lead the upcoming KBS drama, Iron Family, as reported by OSEN. Joining him will be INFINITE’s Sung-yeol. The drama is directed by Seong Jun-hae, written by Seo Sook-hyang, and produced by Keyeast, Monster Union. The drama will contain a total of 36 episodes and will be released following Beauty and Mr Romantic.
The romantic, financially driven black comedy Iron Family, tells the tale of Darim's family, a clean laundromat that irons cash rather than clothing. They happen to stumble into some unanticipated wealth one day, which allows them to straighten out their life and follow their aspirations.
“Actor Kim Jung-hyun was cast in KBS 2TV’s new weekend special drama Iron Family. Please give a lot of attention to Kim Jung-hyun, who will play the role of ‘Seo Kang-joo,’ the managing director of Ji-seung Group.” the agency said.
Iron Family: Cast and plot
Kim Jung-hyun will portray Seo Kang-ju, the son of Cheongryeom-dong's wealthiest family, who gives Integrity Laundry the most costly suits and shirts to display his many charms.
In contrast to the conventional second-generation chaebol, the character prioritizes warm, meaningful connections over material wealth. He also gives the drama a new dimension by accurately capturing Seo Kang-joo's development and personal concerns.
It has also been revealed that Sungyeol from INFINITE will play Choi Hyung-chul. He works as a lieutenant at the Cheongrim Police Station and develops feelings for one of the female officers there. Guem Sae-rok, Choi Tae-joon, and Yang Hye-ji from Soundtrack #2 are presently in negotiations to appear in Iron Family. But as of yet, there have been no affirmations.
