On Are You Sure?! episode 4, released on Thursday, August 22, BTS’ Kim Taehyung shared his thoughts on RM's Come back to me and opened up about his inspiration.
During the episode, Kim Taehyung called up the leader of the septet, RM, requesting him to send the then-unreleased track as he wanted to listen to it. RM had performed his pre-release track Come back to me from the second album, Right Place, Wrong Person, at Suga's D-DAY concert. The song was not officially released at the time of the performance.
Kim Taehyung said he enjoyed the song and wanted to hear it again. While listening to the song with Jimin on Are You Sure?!, he shared that he wanted to cover Come back to me in the future.
“No, he did what I hoped for myself. It was the kind of music I hoped I'd do once in my lifetime and he brought it to life…,” Taehyung said.
BTS’ Kim Taehyung opens up about getting inspired by leader RM
During the recent episode of Are You Sure?! Jimin and Kim Taehyung were seen traveling in a car. They enjoyed the B-side track Come back to me from RM's Right Place, Wrong Person.
As members of BTS, Kim Taehyung and RM have worked together on many songs like 4 O'CLOCK, Inner Child, Singularity, and more. Taehyung was curious about how Come back to me was made and shared that RM was the reason why his horizons of music have broadened.
“So I'm curious about his thought process. Like, what was he thinking when he made this? What did he do... to write this song? When I say I want to broaden my spectrum, it's probably because of RM,” he said.
For the unversed, in an interview with SSENSE, Se-hoon Jang, who was responsible for RM's Right Place, Wrong Person, revealed that TEAM RM started working on Come back to me around May 2023. Eventually, the song was released on May 10, 2024, as the pre-release song for the album.
