On November 8, 2024, BTS' Jungkook broke a record with his solo album GOLDEN, achieving the highest first-day vinyl sales by a K-pop act and soloist in Hanteo history. With the first-day sales of over 80,000 GOLDEN LP vinyls, the singer broke the previous record of BTS’ Love Yourself: Tear, which sold over 61,000 vinyls.

BTS’ Jungkook’s fans rejoiced over his latest achievement. As a result, fans inundated the internet with praise for the K-pop idol. Expressing this sentiment, one user on X stated:

BTS' Jungkook's solo album, GOLDEN, made another milestone on November 8, 2024, when it broke a 29-year-old record and became the best-selling album by a Korean soloist in history. The BTS’ member’s album recorded this achievement with over 2.9 million sales.

This record was previously held by Kim Gun-mo's album Wrongful Meeting, released in 1995 and sold around 2.86 million albums.

BTS' Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN originally debuted on November 3, 2023. The album featured a total of eleven tracks, including Closer to You (feat. Major Lazer), Seven (feat. Latto) Explicit Version, Yes or No, Please Don't Change (feat. DJ Snake), Hate You, Somebody, Standing Next To You, Too Sad to Dance, Shot Glass of Tears, and Seven (ft. Latto) Clean Version.
