BTS Jin confirmed working on his upcoming debut solo album in his latest interview with W KOREA. The GRAMMY-nominated musician was featured in the magazine's latest cover issue, "W KOREA Vol. 7 Summer Dreamer."
The magazine uploaded an exclusive video interview footage to its official YouTube channel on July 15, 2024. In his interview, the Abyss singer-songwriter revealed working on several projects. He said,
"I am currently working on my personal album. Like today's photo shoot, I have other activities planned, including variety shows, etc. So everyone, if I ever come up to your mind, please check out my latest updates."
As a result, fans were filled with anticipation for his future releases, and one fan wrote on X,
"KSJ1 is coming y'all get ready"
Others expressed their enthusiasm for his forthcoming album and flooded social media.
"I’m so so excited bc I have no idea how his album will sound like. It could literally be anything" — one fan said.
"Can't waaaaait for Seokjin content and his album! I have been hungry for it for sooooo long!" — another fan wrote.
"Totally loving this new Jin Era, he gets to do everything he loves more confidently" — one fan said.
Some fans speculated if the BTS idol would use a "celestial" name for his debut solo album similar to his previously released songs like Moon and The Astronaut, while others expressed their unrivaled support towards him.
"If his album or any of the songs on it have a celestial name (like moon and the astronaut) im going to cry" — another fan added.
"HE IS BOOKED AND BUSY (but please make sure to eat and rest well)" — another fan commented.
"If I ever come up to your mind??? You have literally not left my mind since 2017….what do you come up….I now feel like I’m some sort of your extended family with how much I know about you, care for you, love you" — another fan wrote.

The Moon singer-songwriter enlisted in the South Korean military on December 13, 2022, and was discharged on June 12, 2024. After completing his mandatory service, he held a fan meet at Jamsil Arena, Seoul, where he met 4,000 ARMYs and hugged 1,000 lucky fans to celebrate BTS' 11th anniversary on June 13.
Following this, on July 1, South Korean media confirmed that Jin would be featured on the MBC variety show, The Half-Star Hotel In Lost Island; however, the release date has yet to be announced. On July 2, the BTS star was selected as one of the esteemed torchbearers for the 2024 Paris Olympics Torch Relay and joined the list of previous torchbearers like David Beckham and Muhammad Ali, among others.
After this, on July 8, the Times of India reported that BTS Jin was spotted along with his filming crew in his alma mater, Posung Boys High School. He was seen wearing a school uniform and carrying a camera as he filmed for an unnamed content. On the same day, French luxury brand FRED announced the K-pop sensation as their first-ever Global Ambassador.
Later, Jin was also spotted at Hallasan Mountain, Jeju Island, along with his father and filming crew. According to a BIGHIT MUSIC representative, the idol is reportedly filming content for his own variety show, which Jin and the agency are closely monitoring.
