South Korean actor Lee Jang-woo came across BTS’ Jin's military discharge banner near his former base and expressed his regret for not being able to meet him. On Thursday, June 20, JTBC News, a South Korean media agency reported about the teaser of the upcoming episode of MBC variety show Home Alone or I Live Alone featuring actor Lee Jang-woo.

According to the reports, Lee Jang-woo will give insights into his daily life through the episode which is scheduled to air on June 21, 2024. Particularly, this episode will focus on his visit to the 5th Division Recruit Training Center, in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do province, where he was seen wearing a military uniform.

Lee Jang-woo, discharged eight years ago, went to meet his military successors. The actor does this every year, creating memories and strengthening his bond with them. Meanwhile, Jin has also served in the military at the same base.

Lee Jang-woo and his military comrades saw banners celebrating Jin's discharge and congratulated the singer. The actor shared his thoughts on missing the chance to meet Jin.

According to JTBC News, he said,

“It would have been nice if I had come earlier and met BTS Jin.”

Lee Jang-Woo is a well-known South Korean actor who has appeared in dramas like My Only One, Homemade Love Story, and The Heavenly Idol. He enlisted in April 2016 and was discharged from his national duties in January 2018, from the 5th Division Recruit Training Center, as a sergeant.

Jin began his military service journey on December 12, 2023, as the first member of BTS to get enlisted. Notably, the singer also served one year and six months of his military conscription at the 5th Division, marking his discharge on June 12, 2024, a day before the group's 11th anniversary.

Many celebrities have served as assistant drill instructors, including Rain and 2PM member Hwang Chan-sung, and more. Similarly, Jin and Lee Jang-woo have also worked as assistant drill instructors, according to Media Fine.

On April 30, GQ Korea revealed a pictorial featuring Lee Jang-woo alongside Home Alone’s co-hosts Jeon Hyun-moo and Park Na-rae. All three celebrities presented FILA underwear in this pictorial for the magazine, revealing their four-month journey of body transformation. The actor revealed shedding 22kgs within three months during an episode of Home Alone.

Jin, who was recently discharged from the military, attended the 2024 FESTA event held at the Jamsil Sports Field Complex on June 13. The BTS member held a light hug meet and greet event in celebration of his return and the group's 11th anniversary at the FESTA. He performed some of his popular tracks, The Astronaut, Moon, and Super Tuna.

The singer topped the Brand Value Rankings for an individual member of a K-pop idol (June) with a score of 3,865,321 points. His military discharge also boosted the score of BTS for the Brand Reputation Rankings for the K-pop boy group (June) up to 177.09 percent, resulting in the group securing the first position on the list.
