Not everyone seemed to be in Lisa’s favor. Some questioned why were ads for her latest single surfacing on their notifications.

BLACKPINK's Lisa garnered attention for her latest single ROCKSTAR

ROCKSTAR is Lisa's first solo work since breaking up from BLACKPINK. This is the debut album released by her independent label, LLOUD. People had high hopes, and she more than met them. Witnessing her inclusiveness and Thai pride brought joy to many. The video was shot in her country, and you can see Thai streets all over the soundtrack.

Until June 18, when LLOUD formally introduced ROCKSTAR, she had hinted at her new work on many occasions without disclosing any details.

10 days after the announcement, on June 28, the full music video was made open to everyone, after the publication of the concept image and teaser. After seeing the teaser and photos, fans couldn't wait for the release, thinking about how BLACKPINK's Lisa's voice and dancing would feel. The song's instant success is shown by the astounding view numbers within hours of release.

BLACKPINK's Lisa has now been accused of using sponsored advertisements to push her song video, despite all the the excitement around it. Notifications are typically sent to users by algorithms on social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok depending on their previous engagement with channels.

Some internet users have reported receiving alerts from Lisa's channels despite the fact that they have never engaged with her content.

Many people have accused her of "payola," a phrase for when famous people pay to be famous. Some people think the system delivers alerts at random. When it comes to algorithms, nobody has a clue.

In related news, BLACKPINK's Lisa's ROCKSTAR music video has achieved the milestone of becoming the fastest K-pop music video of 2024 to reach 2 million views on YouTube. This was achieved by breaking the record that had been set earlier this year by BABYMONSTER's Sheesh. Furthermore, ROCKSTAR broke the record for the quickest music video of 2024 to reach 1 million views.
