However, netizens were divided over her decision after her controversial performances at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2024 Global Citizen Music Festival. She received backlash and faced allegations of lip-syncing during both performances.

Meanwhile, her 2025 GRAMMY submission has received scrutiny and caused a stir online. Netizens stated that her song submissions were ironic. One X user wrote,

Others compared her GRAMMY submissions with applying to Harvard University with a 1.5 GPA. While some highlighted that if GRAMMY had a "best lip-syncing" category, then she may have won.
