BTS leader and rapper Kim Nam-joon, also known as RM, recently amused fans with a lighthearted moment from his military service. Serving in the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) since December 2023, RM recently shared updates on Instagram showcasing a day out with his fellow soldiers. While activities like ice sledding and ziplining drew attention, it was a karaoke session that caught fans' attention the most.
In a short clip, RM’s comrade was seen passionately singing BTS' energetic track Mic Drop in a small karaoke booth, surrounded by disco lights and a lively atmosphere. However, fans were quick to notice a peculiar detail—the music video playing on the screen was for Life Goes On, a gentle and reflective song vastly different than Mic Drop.
The rapper humorously captioned the moment with “#chillguys,” sparking waves of laughter across social media.
Fans took to platforms like X to joke about the unexpected pairing. Many highlighted the stark contrast between the two songs, with Mic Drop as a powerful hip-hop anthem laced with heavy bass and electronic beats, while Life Goes On offers a soothing, acoustic sound with uplifting lyrics.
An X user, @agustduh_ wrote:
"life goes on mv playing with mic drop lyrics is diabolical."
Others also joined in to joke about the unusual pairing of the music video with the track.
"Unserious karaoke machine Lyrics is mic drop with life goes on homely sweet video," a fan commented.
"Love seeing him have fun with friends!! Also, why is the karaoke pictures of Life Goes On MV when it is Mic Drop they are singing lol. Thank you for sharing with us Joonie," an X user added.

"Imagine having the leader of the biggest boy group in your platoon and you're singing their songs... in front of him!! Hahahha what a flex!," another person commented.
