He was a former member of the K-pop boy group, BEAST (now known as HIGHLIGHT) which was formed in 2009. On the other hand, HyunA is a K-pop soloist, singer-songwriter, and rapper who initially debuted as a member of Wonder Girls in 2007. After her departure from YG Entertainment and Wonder Girls, she joined 4Minute, a K-pop girl group under Cube Entertainment in 2009. When the group disbanded, the idol chose to kickstart her career as a soloist.
The Burning Sun Scandal that landed on the internet in 2018 revolved around a Gangnam bar called the Burning Sun which was kickstarted by the former BIGBANG member, Seungri. The club was revealed to be involved in illegal matters such as s*xual harassment and circulating non-consensual videos of women in a group chat including several South Korean celebrities.
Yong Jun-hyun personally admitted to having watched the videos that were sent to the group and acknowledged his position as a bystander to the crimes that were being committed at the bar. Therefore, people have been criticizing HyunA for her involvement with Yong Jun-hyun.
