“Living for clingy DaiShun”- Fans react as The Boyfriend couple drops their first video vlog on YouTube

On August 13, The Boyfriend contestants Dai and Shun posted their first-ever vlog on YouTube. 23-year-old university student Dai Nakai, met artist and DJ Shun Nakanishi of the same age, on the Japanese Netflix dating reality show The Boyfriend, and were instantly drawn towards one another.

The show aired on July 9, 2024. The show revolved around a group of men living together in a house, running a coffee truck to bond and hopefully meet their true love.

In the video titled revisiting where we met on their YouTube channel named DaiShun, the couple was seen spending time together, roaming around the place where the show was shot, and reminiscing about their time on the show. They also shared how life has changed since they met.

Fans rejoiced after the release of the video. They took to social media to express their joy, love, and adoration for the couple's wholesome relationship. One fan on X said,

“I’m living for clingy Daishun”

"Shun's bombastic side eye when Dai teased him" another fan on X said while pointing out a funny moment in the video.

"Dai did what he wanted to do the last time they were there" a user posted.

"Every move Dai makes around Shun radiates pure love and devotion, you can see just how deeply he’s in love with him" another user tweeted

"It's almost been a year since we met"- DaiShun in their first vlog.

Within an hour of posting their first-ever vlog, the video garnered over 100,000 views. In the much popular video, the couple was seen roaming around Chikura Shiokaze Okoku.

"We are gonna go to a special place around this area" Dai explained excitedly before placing a kiss on Shun's cheek.

They shared several special moments, from feeding each other, and teasing each other, while they happily talked about being together for over 10 months, since the show ended filming.

"It's almost been a year since we met, it is crazy" Dai shared.

Dai shared how much love and support he had been getting since the show aired. He went on to say that he had got so many messages from fans telling him how his actions moved and inspired them so much.

Talking about future plans, Dai said,

"I hope that I can help people look forward. You know, there are times when it is so hard to take that one step... I wanna be able to encourage people to take this one more step to keep it going."

He also added that he wanted to do what challenged him more. Shun said as Dai agreed, holding his hand,

"For me, it is to keep being who I am while taking a good care of Dai. I am super excited for us."

The Boyfriend and DaiShun

Since the beginning of the Netflix dating show The Boyfriend, Dai's feelings had been visible to the viewers, but Shun kept them guessing. The two confessed their feelings towards each other on the last day of the show, becoming the most talked-about pair on the show.

Since the show ended on July 30, fans have been eagerly waiting to know whether or not they were still together. After the show, they followed each other on social media, which led the fans to speculate about their relationship status. The confirmation came on August 3rd, at the reunion or the final commentary episode which was posted on Netflix's Japanese official account on YouTube.

When the host, comedian Tokui, asked if they were together, the couple held hands smiling, thus confirming their relationship. They also shared that they had been living together in Dai's parents' home since after the show ended.
