On January 24, 2025, the creator of The White Lotus, Mike White, praised BLACKPINK's Lisa's versatility as an actress during an exclusive interview with the media outlet TIME. The director confessed that initially, he was hesitant as he thought he did not need any more attention for the upcoming season.

However, White said that he felt that the K-Pop artist performed well in the audition. He referred to her as a great actress who was a source of pride for the Thai people. He went on to praise her, calling her both "a pop star" and "Princess Diana."
