As reported by the Korean media outlet OSEN on September 5, 2024, actors Ma Dong-seok, Ji Chang-wook, and Seo In-guk are reportedly in discussions for a new Korean superhero series. Last year, it was reported that Ma Dong-seok had been cast in the lead role and would also participate as a producer for the series.

The series is tentatively entitled Twelve and revolves around twelve heroes representing the twelve heavenly gods, also known as the twelve zodiacs. Their mission is to diligently protect Korea from evil forces that pose a threat to the Korean peninsula.

The narrative Twelve artfully interweaves the rich tapestry of Korean mythology with contemporary action-packed storytelling.

Although the specific roles of the characters have not been officially confirmed, according to industry sources and the Korean media house OSEN, each actor has been offered the opportunity to portray one of the twelve deities.

Ji Chang-wook has been presented with an opportunity to portray one of the characters defending the Korean peninsula. This series will mark his first venture into the superhero genre since his debut. The actor's fans are undoubtedly thrilled about this potential endeavor.

As reported by OSEN, Ma Dong Seok will assume the role of Taesan, the leader of the superhero group.

Also, Doom At Your Service (2021) actor Seo In Guk has received an offer to portray the role of the monkey god as per OSEN.

The casting marks the potential for a reunion between Seo In-guk and Ma Dong-seok following their successful collaboration in the 2016 series Squad 38.

The drama Twelve is expected to be released in the year 2025. Though it hasn't been revealed yet, the production house of the drama is potentially in discussion with a major OTT platform for streaming. The drama is being produced by Ma Dong-seok's Big Punch Pictures and Nova Film.
