BTS’ Kim Taehyung made an LGBTQ+ reference in the TYPE 1 photobook images gaining attention online. On July 9, the TYPE 1 photo book was officially released and fans who were able to get their hands on the book shared images online. Netizens online highlighted a T-shirt worn by Kim Taehyung in the photograph which said, “Love, My Way”, by ALLSAINTS.
Netizens found that the ALLSAINTS’ campaign in 2023 shared a message, which according to their official website stated:
“Escape in our own individual way. Escape to find ourselves and be ourselves. Escape to feel good. Whatever, whoever and wherever you love. This season you can...love, my way.”
Netizens stated that the campaign was inspired by the song Love, My Way by The Psychedelic Furs released in 1982. The song dives deeper into the concept of embracing one’s true self amid the pressure of societal norms. This song was also used as a background for the 2017 film Call Me By Your Name.
