On Thursday, September 12, Naver reported that a man in his 40s was apprehended for allegedly intruding into HYBE's premises and lingering there for three days. The man was taken into custody at the Yongsan Police Station. In a statement, the entertainment corporation reportedly stated:

“We confirmed that the man illegally entered the building and will actively work with the investigation so that he can be severely punished.”

The incident originally took place on Friday, September 6, when the man illegally entered the company's property. The man was then arrested on September 8. The fact that the label's security could allow this to happen shocked Korean internet users.

HYBE Entertainment initiated legal proceedings against the accused at Yongsan Police Station

The Yongsang Police Station reported that a man accessed the building from the basement on September 6. Analysis of the CCTV footage revealed that the suspect entered through the main gate at around 4 pm KST. He was seated in the first-floor lobby for roughly one hour.

Thereafter, he accessed the basement via an elevator designated for the underground parking facility, which grants entry without passing through the security entrance. The man abused the disorganized security team, ascended the glass security door, and moved between floors 3 to 18.

On September 8, the company's representative notified the police about a suspicious individual loitering on the fifth floor. The individual was subsequently apprehended at around 6:30 pm KST that day and booked for trespassing.

The police inquiry discovered that the man was unemployed and neither stole nor possessed a firearm at the time of the crime.

He also reportedly managed the food services in the dining area used by the label's trainees and employees. According to a statement from the Yongsan Police Station, they provided an update on the situation:

“The man was talking nonsense, so we plan to use the relevant evidence to investigate the exact motive for the crime.”

During his stay, the accused was found to have managed his meals in the cafeteria used by the company's trainees and employees.

As of this writing, the registered case is under investigation, and more developments are expected in the near future.
