The South Korean media outlet OSEN exclusively reported that the MBC Entertainment Awards has been re-scheduled to premiere on Lunar New Year. Earlier the award ceremony was cancelled due to the Jeju Air Plane disaster incident. According to the publication, the event was originally scheduled to take place on December 29, 2024, the same day as the aviation accident.
Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation joined the national mourning till January 4, in memory of the victims who lost their lives in the Jeju Air Flight 2216 plane crash.
