On September 7, 2024, Megan The Stallion x BTS' Kim Namjoon aka RM's latest song, Neva Play, debuted at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart. The track was released yesterday and took the charts by storm. It also debuted at No. 1 on the Europe iTunes Song Chart on September 6 and dropped to No. 2 on September 8.
The song topped across 70 countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Ukraine, and Venezuela. Neva Play was co-written by the BTS leader, Kim Namjoon alongside the American musician, Megan Thee Stallion. Namjoon's verse, "For Asia, man, we paved the way," went viral online as the BTS ARMY trended the phrase globally on X.
Namjoon shared the song on his Instagram story a few hours after the song was released with the caption, "For Asia, man, we paved the way," which was further cheered by his fans. Furthermore, the BTS leader was featured as a male lead from an Anime in the Neva Play MV due to his ongoing enlistment.

The Mamushi and Otaku Hot Girl rapper rejoined forces with the BTS frontman, Kim Namjoon, for the second time. Their first partnership was when she was a featured artist on BTS' Butter (Megan Thee Stallion Remix) in August 2021. It was the remixed version of the original track, Butter, released in May 2021.
The original track topped the Billboard Hot 100 in June 2021 and maintained the No. 1 place for seven straight weeks before losing to BTS' Permission To Dance. The remixed version also topped the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2021.

In other news, BTS' Kim Namjoon enlisted in the military to fulfill his mandatory enlistment of 18 months on December 11, 2023. He pre-recorded the song with Megan Thee Stallion before his enlistment. Namjoon also pre-recorded his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, and released it via his agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, on May 24, 2024.
On August 1, 2024, Namjoon was promoted to corporal in the 15th Infantry Division of the Republic of Korea Army. He shared the news through his Instagram story. Namjoon is set to be discharged in June 2025 alongside bandmates Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook, and Suga. The group will resume band activities after June 2025 and is reported to go on a world tour later that year.
