The BTS leader and rapper, who is currently fulfilling his military duties, likely pre-recorded the new collaboration before his enlistment in December 2023. NEVA PLAY featuring Namjoon and Megan is scheduled for release on September 6, 2024, at 1 PM (KST) or 12 AM (ET).
This announcement followed a previous cryptic post where Megan posted a series of emojis— a horse and a purple heart. The horse symbolizes Megan, often called "Stallion," while the purple heart is a well-known symbol for BTS and their fans.
BTS' official X account responded to the teaser by swapping out the purple heart for a porcupine and a koala emoji, both of which are symbols associated with Namjoon, adding more fuel to the collaboration rumors.
NEVA PLAY will be Megan's second collaboration with BTS. Previously, she released a remix of their hit song, Butter. They also presented the remix together for the first time in November 2021, during the group's Permission to Dance on Stage concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
