Chae Soo-bin recently shared her family's reactions to When the Phone Rings, during an interview with Newsen on January 8, 2025. In the MBC drama, she portrayed Hong Hee-joo, a sign language interpreter who suffers from mutism and is married to Baek Sa-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok).
Responding to the question of whether she watched the drama's last episode with her family, referring to her intimate scenes with Yoo Yeon-seok, she said,
"I watched it alone. My dad probably couldn't stand it."

Although the actress wasn't able to join the cast for the group viewing of the last episode of When the Phone Rings, which featured an intense intimate scene between her and Yoo Yeon-seok, Chae Soo-bin mentioned that she watched it "quietly at home." When asked if she watched it with her family, she joked that she watched the finale alone, as her father couldn't handle it.
Chae Soo-bin further mentioned that her mom enjoyed the drama, as she expressed her excitement after each episode. Meanwhile, her dad, who was often away during the original broadcast, would watch it later on Netflix.
"He can't watch the kissing scenes. He turns them off. I wonder how hard it must have been for him. He originally can't watch my love scenes," the actress added.
Chae Soo-bin also revealed with a laugh that her dad would sometimes stop by neighbors' homes to have them turn on the show, and he would watch it again at home. She humorously remarked that her father must have found it difficult to watch her intimate moments, as he preferred to skip over them.

"Many people tell me to date Yoo Yeon-seok. I think I'm grateful. I think they say that because our chemistry as Hee-joo and Sa-eon was good. I also often think, 'I wish the two of them would really meet' when I watch foreign dramas. That's why I'm grateful," she said.
Meanwhile, in a January 6 interview for the finale of the drama, Yoo Yeon-seok addressed their chemistry with a laugh, explaining that the scenes weren't something he could do alone and that he believed the fans were cheering him on.
