Audrey Kang, who starred alongside Kim Namjoon of BTS, in the artist's LOST! music video, recently shared a heartfelt post about the experience on her official Instagram handle. The actress is known for working in Yolk (2017), Dial a Prayer (2015), and Bob, the Accessory... (2014). In her Instagram post, she mentioned being one of Namjoon's four alter egos and shared how nervous she was on set.
The actress admitted feeling jilted and anxious while working alongside the K-pop powerhouse and recalled how those worries vanished the moment she met him.
Kang elaborated how her "heart raced for an hour" once she learned that the project belonged to the BTS frontman. She added that she represented the K-pop sensation's "overconfident" persona in LOST!
"When I was finally chosen for the role of the “OVERCONFIDENT” persona of a Major K-pop star after two auditions, and when I found out it was you - RM, my heart raced for an hour." she wrote.
Namjoon's LOST! MV is a musical representation of the artist's introspection and his feeling out of place
In her caption, the actress, who is more comfortable speaking in English, appreciated the BTS frontman's compassionate manner in conversing with her in that language. Audrey Kang further noted in her post caption that she tried to remind herself that she's a professional to calm her nerves during the filming of LOST!:
"I remember the first day vividly – shaking your hands, being called by my name - Audrey, and responding to my English speaking in English as it was more comfortable for me to speak in English. How kind of you to do that. I still remember the first day of shooting. It was a scene walking in front of the elevator, right next to you, and I was so nervous that I could hear my heart pounding. “I’m a pro, so I have to act like one. I absolutely can’t show that I’m nervous!” I shouted at myself, acting overconfidently. You couldn’t tell, right?"
The actress further added a note below where she revealed that the suit and shoes she wore in the music video were of RM's size and measurements as she depicted one of his personas:
"By the way, my clothes and shoe size are exactly the same as RM’s on the set! That’s why it’s oversized." she wrote.
The album, Right Place, Wrong Person's lead track, LOST!, debuted along with a breathtaking music video helmed by Aube Perrie—who had previously filmed Megan Thee Stallion's Thot Sh*t and Harry Styles' Satellite and Music in the Sushi Restaurant. The LOST! music video, which has Namjoon "lost" in a maze trying to locate himself, shows the artist revealing what's truly going on inside his head.
A brief animation at the beginning of the music video teases Namjoon's appearance on a talk show, where a label reading "Inside Namjoon's brain" is placed on his forehead. The irony of the thin line that separates art from its creator and the high price of fame is used as a metaphor here.
Furthermore, the entire maze in the music video symbolizes the daily struggle Namjoon has between being a normal 29-year-old man and a worldwide phenomenon. The video's visuals and design effortlessly incorporated the concept and showed him navigating feelings of self-doubt and being out of place.
The track climbed to No.1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart on May 24, 2024, and remained there for three consecutive days.
Kim Namjoon of BTS released his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, on May 24, 2024. He became the first K-pop solo artist to have the biggest album and song debut on Spotify with over 14 million streams on the album's opening day. Currently, he is serving in the military and will return in June 2025 to reconvene with the band.
