The romance-action drama My Military Valentine premiered on Viki on June 7, 2024. Directed by Park Gwang-choon, the show is set in the peaceful city of Pyeoghwasi, where citizens from both North and South Korea coexist harmoniously.
In My Military Valentine, Nam Gyu-ri stars as Baek Young-ok, a Major General in the North Korean army responsible for guarding the rapidly growing city of Pyeoghwasi. Kim Min-seok plays Lloyd, a beloved K-pop star from the globally popular boy band FITA.
Song Jae-rim portrays Song Jae-hoon, the leader of the terrorist organization Violet, which opposes the unification of the two nations. The final episode of My Military Valentine packs a surprising twist, giving the leads their happy ending.

My Military Valentine episode 12: Lloyd and Baek Young-ok find Shadow's identity
In the previous episode of My Military Valentine, the officials were trying to track down Shadow by taking Lloyd to the safe house. The last episode opens with Seung-tae aiming at Mayor Won Tae-sook and Lloyd as they get out of the car. Meanwhile, Vice Commissioner Lee asks Young-ok for help.
Jae-hoon tries to stop Seung-tae, who is now pointing his gun at Jae-hoon. Jae-hoon takes responsibility for their comrades' deaths, but Seung-tae does not listen. He jumps and shoots at Lloyd. Young-ok arrives just in time to protect Lloyd, and he then fires at Seung-tae, successfully shooting him.
Jae-hoon arrives to find Seung-tae lying on the ground and says a final goodbye to both. Just then, Seung-tae shoots at Lloyd, but Jae-hoon protects him by stepping in front and taking the bullets. A distraught Young-ok holds his head and cries.
Lloyd then figures out who Shadow is, and the two set out to catch them. Meanwhile, the mayor, witnessing it all, asks her vice-commissioners to make everyone leave and puts the blame on North Korea for the attacks. The two pull out their guns and point at each other.
Lloyd and Young-ok arrive but are unable to enter even with their IDs. The mayor then tries to frame Young-ok as a spy, but Lloyd calls her out as Shadow. Vice-commissioner Park drops his gun to prove his trustworthiness to Vice Commissioner Lee, who opens the glass door for Young-ok and Lloyd.
As Lloyd tries to arrest Tae-sook, she pulls out a gun, shoots Vice Commissioner Park, and takes Lloyd hostage. The unit barges in just then, and Lloyd asks Young-ok to shoot, but she is afraid she will shoot Lloyd. Vice Commissioner Lee fires a shot, hitting Lloyd. As he falls to the ground, the unit arrests Tae-sook.
Young-ok holds Lloyd and starts weeping, telling him that she loves him. Enjoying the confession, Lloyd tells her he loves her too, sits up, and reveals a bulletproof vest. The couple then shares a passionate kiss.
Young-ok and Lloyd visit Mi-rae in the hospital before her surgery. Lloyd also tells Young-ok that Jae-hoon had visited him and provided intel about Shadow, telling him that he is the main target now. The best opportunity to catch Shadow would be to do so when they try to kill him. They planned to do this by taking him to a safe house and having Seung-tae shoot him. Anyone who has the information and was able to manipulate it would be Shadow. Hence, Lloyd had acted as bait.
Though Geum-seok loses her son, the unit member she thought was her son starts calling her mother. Mi-rae's surgery goes well, and as Lloyd is making the payment for it, he meets Song-i, who is now in a wheelchair. In the same hospital, the convenience store couple has twins.
In Mi-rae's hospital room, Lloyd pulls Young-ok aside and asks her to spend the rest of her life with him. She refuses, saying she does not want to marry him now. While attending the wedding of the convenience store couple, Lloyd asks Young-ok when they will be getting married, to which she responds that he would have to go back to being a singer after getting discharged.
Young-ok catches the bride's bouquet, making Lloyd happy. FITA, the K-pop band, performs at the wedding, and Lloyd joins in. Everyone has a good time. Suddenly, the unit receives a message and has to dispatch to Afghanistan. With this, My Military Valentine comes to a happy ending for the couple.
