As Park Bo-young and Choi Woo-shik attended the Ami Paris Fall Winter 2025 collection Fashion Show on January 22, fans were excited to see the Melo Movie couple posting stories on Instagram together.

Melo Movie, releasing on February 14 on Netflix, is a modern romance that delves into the lives of Ko Gyeom and Mu-bi as they navigate love, dreams, and the complexities of their relationship.

The film is directed by Oh Chung-hwan, known for hits like My Love from the Star, While You Were Sleeping, and Hotel del Luna.

Ko Gyeom, played by Choi Woo-shik, is an actor-turned-film critic, while Mu-bi, played by Park Bo-young is a junior director deeply connected to the film world through her father's legacy.

Their chance meeting disrupts Mu-bi’s life, sparking a connection that grows complicated when Ko Gyeom suddenly disappears. Years later, their paths cross again when Mu-bi’s film is released, reigniting unresolved emotions.

The drama also follows Hong Shi-jun, portrayed by Lee Jun-young, a talented but unrecognized composer, and his ex-girlfriend Son Joo-a, played by Jeon So-nee, a screenwriter, whose stories intertwine with Ko Gyeom and Mu-bi’s.

"My precious Melo Movie couple. Thank you Ami for having them together. I'm so excited already for this 14th Feb." a fan said.
"Yeorobun, his first post update in Paris is a photo with Boyoungie. This man for real!" commented another.

What do the Melo Movie actors have to say about their characters?

The February issue of Elle magazine features a pictorial and interviews with Choi Woo-shik, Park Bo-young, Lee Jun-young, and Jeon So-ni on January 20. The pictorial captures a blend of seriousness and playfulness, reflecting the youthful themes of love and self-discovery explored in the series.

During the interviews, Choi Woo-shik, who plays film critic Go Gyeom, shared his thoughts on the series’ logline, describing it as a story of young people inspiring one another while pursuing love and dreams:

“If youth is about resting when you rest and working hard when you work, and trying to run forward first, then I think I’m still youth now.”

Park Bo-young, who portrays aspiring director Kim Moo-bi, expressed her connection to the character, noting that Moo-bi's self-protective nature could resonate with viewers:

“We lived well today, so let’s live well tomorrow too. Today is not our end, there is tomorrow. I hope we can definitely meet that tomorrow.”

Lee Jun-young, who plays composer Hong Si-joon, revealed how his role helped him reflect on personal challenges. He found the series’ message healing, emphasizing the importance of effort over innate talent.

Jeon So-ni, as screenwriter Son Joo-ah, highlighted her character’s emotional growth through love, a key inspiration for her writing journey. She expressed curiosity about how viewers would connect with Joo-ah’s evolution.

Melo Movie is set to release on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
