On Friday, September 20, the 2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival rolled out its first day of events, with several South Korean actors and celebrities gracing the red carpet. Some of them include Good Partner's Nam Ji-hyun, The Player 2: Master of Swindlers' Oh Yeon-seo, and more. The film festival is expected to be held between September 20 to September 22.
The event is being rolled out at the KAIST Main Building in Yuseong-gu and the downtown area of Daejeon. The Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival also stands as the only event in South Korea that honors and is dedicated to the special effects genre in films.
It features the Daejeon Over-the-Top Awards, which is expected to award a total of 14 categories, including the most-awaited, Best Special Effects Award. It is organized by the Daejeon Metropolitan City and Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency.

Apart from the Daejeon Over-the-Top Awards, the event also included two other intriguing aspects which are special effects screenings and an interactive exhibition. The special effects screenings will include the showcase of outstanding special effects films from both domestic and international film creators.

All South Korean celebrities who graced the red carpet at the 2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival Day 1
The 2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival rolled out the first day of its sixth edition show on September 20. The event initially held the name Daejeon Visual Art-Tech Awards when it started in 2019. However, since 2023, the event took the name, Daeeon Special Video Film Festival.
Here are all the South Korean actors and celebrities who were captured on the red carpet of the event:

On the other hand, several South Korean actors also bagged awards for their work in Special Effects South Korean films on this day. Choi Jin-hyuk took home the trophy for the Best Actor Award for his work in the K-drama series Miss Day and Night. Additionally, Nam Ji-hyun won the Grand Prize of the Top Excellence Actress Award, for her outstanding performance in the K-drama, High Cookie.
Yoon Bomi, the South Korean singer, actress, and host, was also awarded Best Supporting Actress for her role as Secretary Na in the K-drama series, Queen of Tears. Given that more actors and actresses are expected to bag more awards for the other categories in the coming days of the 2024 Daejeon Special Effects Film Festival, fans are excited to see what's in store for them.
