Netflix has confirmed the production of a new season of Crime Scene. It is a popular role-play variety show that will now be available globally as a Netflix original series.

The show made a strong comeback last year after a seven-year break. It featured a star-studded cast including Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, Jang Dong Min, SHINee’s Key, Joo Hyun Young, and IVE’s An Yu Jin.
The announcement of the fifth season has fans excited. It will be produced exclusively by Netflix. According to iMBC Entertainment, this new chapter promises to deliver a bigger and more immersive experience. Fans can expect enhanced production values and improved game mechanics.
The show which has spanned four seasons, has garnered international recognition and accolades. These include the top prize at the New York TV & Film Festival, the grand prize at the Asian Television Awards, and the gold prize at the Houston International Film Festival. Mango TV acquired the rights for a Chinese adaptation back in 2016. Titled Who's the Murderer, the adaptation became a hit. The show's unique format has attracted global interest, solidifying its status as a pioneering mystery program.
According to the media outlet iMBC Entertainment, a Netflix representative remarked:
"We are happy that the new chapter of 'Crime Scene', which has opened a new horizon for mystery entertainment, can be introduced to Korean and global fans through Netflix."
PD Yoon Hyun-joon, who has led the show since its inception as the CEO of Studio Slam, expressed his excitement:
"We made this decision to share the fun of 'Crime Scene', which has been loved by many, with fans not only in Korea but also around the world." He added.
Talking about the building excitement among the fans, the director said:

Star-Studded Lineup Evolves: A look at Crime Scene's cast through the season
The show has featured a diverse lineup of stars across its seasons. The first season in 2014 included Hong Jin-ho, a former professional StarCraft player, along with former announcer and host Park Ji-yoon, Jun Hyun-moo, Lim Bang-geul, and lawyer Kang Yong-suk. Hong Jin-ho and Park Ji-yoon returned for the second season in 2015, joined by film director Jang Jin, comedian Jang Dong-min, and singer-actress Hani.
The third season premiered in 2017 with returning members Park Ji-yoon and Jang Jin, alongside newcomers comedian Yang Se-hyung, and singer Jung Eun-ji, with actors Kim Ji-hoon and Kim Min-gue. In 2024, the fourth season, titled Crime Scene Returns, brought back Park Ji-yoon, Jang Jin, and Jang Dong-min, adding new faces Key from boy group SHINee, Joo Hyun-young, and An Yu-jin from girl group IVE.
