Netflix drops Can This Love Be Translated script reading stills, officially confirming lead cast members

On June 27, 2024, the official Instagram page of Netflix Korea shared the script reading stills for its upcoming K-drama, Can This Love Be Translated. These stills officially confirmed the star cast of this romantic comedy series. Popular Korean stars like Kim Seon Ho, Go Youn Jung, Fukushi Sota, Lee Yi Dam, and Choi Woo Sung will be part of the show. This Netflix drama will have a total of 10 episodes.

This romantic comedy is anticipated to be filled with unexpected twists and turns. In the upcoming drama, Kim Seon Ho stars as Joo Ho Jin, a translator who unexpectedly steps into the life of a global superstar, Cha Mu He, played by Go Youn Jung. The story develops into a slow-burn comic romance between the two characters from different worlds.

A new series, Can This Love Be Translated, is in the works at Netflix, and the streaming company has even announced the actors. The forthcoming Netflix series was made public on June 27.

The Hong sisters, whose credits include Alchemy of Souls, Hotel Del Luna, Master's Sun, and more, have created another romantic comedy in Can This Love Be Translated. Yoo Young Eun is set to direct the series.

As stated in the press release of Netflix, the story of this upcoming drama is:

"In this romantic comedy series, an unexpected romance blossoms between multilingual translator Ju Ho-jin and global celebrity Cha Mu-hee, as their professional relationship takes unpredictable and heartwarming turns."

Actor Kim Seon Ho, who has been in popular dramas like 'Start-Up' and 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,' will portray the character of Joo Ho Jin, an interpreter who is proficient in many languages.

Cha Mu Hee, a self-assured and energetic superstar, will be played by Go Youn Jung. Playing a variety of roles in films like Hunt and television shows like Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, Go Youn Jung has amassed quite a name in the heart of audiences.

Lee Yi Dam, who has captivated audiences in Netflix series like Daily Dose of Sunshine and Black Knight, will also be joining Choi Woo Sung on the cast. Fans of Choi Woo Sung's work in series like Chief Detective 1958 and My Roommate Is a Gumiho are anticipating a riveting performance from the actor.

Furthermore, Can This Love Be Translated will be Sota Fukushi's first Korean work. He's famous for his work in films like As the Gods Will and My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday, and drama series like Library Wars: The Last Mission and I'm Taking The Day Off.
