Netflix prepares for its next Korean reality dating show Better Late Than Single amidst Singles Inferno 4 buzz: All we know so far

Netflix has already acquired significant success with its first Korean dating reality show, Singles Inferno, so the streaming site is reportedly preparing for another dating show with a new twist.

On January 24, 2025, South Korean media agency Naver reported that Netflix is gearing up for the release of its new Korean reality dating show, titled Better Late Than Single, which is stated to start in the first half of 2025.

The concept of Netflix’s new dating show will revolve around the people who have never dated anyone before. This reality dating show will welcome those participants who have never dated before or have stayed “forever single.”

The announcement of the new show came shortly after the premiere of the fourth season of Singles Inferno. Unlike Singles Inferno, Better Late Than Single will feature those who have no prior dating experience.

As per Naver, the show’s previous pre-recruitment attracted about 4000 applications from forever single people.

Earlier, in May 2024, the social media page of Netflix Korea shared a Google form asking the applications from single people without any dating history.

“Your first relationship, Netflix will help you. For those who say, "I really want to date now," is now. A chance to get your first love opportunity through the coaching staff's consulting and makeover If you are a mother solo who dreams of love, please apply through the link below!”

Besides the players, the show will also include some celebrities, expert in different fields, who will prepare these participants for their perfect dates.

These experts will first analyze the fashion and hair of the participants and then offer them a style transformation. They will also guide them on how to be more confident for their date.


Singles Inferno was Netflix’s first Korean dating show

Singles Inferno is a South Korean reality show available on Netflix. It was the first Korean dating show to launch on the streaming service.

The show’s hosts include model Hong Jin-kyung, actress Lee Da-hee, musician and Super Junior member Kyuhyun, rapper Hanhae, and YouTuber Dex.

The inaugural season came out between December 18, 2021 and January 8, 2022. The subsequent season was released between December 13, 2022 and January 10, 2023.

The third season appeared between December 12, 2023 and January 9, 2024. The fourth season debuted on January 14, 2025.

Singles Inferno's core concept merges the premise of survival shows with the theme of battling for their desired love interest.

Participants are sent on an island, ‘Inferno,’ where they encounter difficulties, make connections, and battle for the opportunity to get away to the lavish "Paradise" hotel.

The latest fourth season has a total of 12 episodes with a runtime of around 60 minutes. The finale episode of the new season is scheduled for February 12, 2025.

The fourth season has thirteen people holding varied skills and captivating backgrounds.


As of this writing, the exact premiere date of Better Late Than Single hasn't been announced by Netflix.
