Netflix has officially renewed Culinary Class Wars for a second season, following the show's immense global success. On October 15, 2024, the streaming giant announced the return of the hit South Korean cooking competition, which became the first Korean unscripted show to hold the No. 1 spot on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV list throughout its airing.
As per the announcement notice on Netflix's official website, season 2 is set to air in the second half of next year to deliver even more intense culinary battles, promising to raise the stakes for both contestants and viewers. It read,
"Netflix has confirmed the production of Culinary Class Wars Season 2, following its record-breaking debut as the first Korean unscripted title to rank No. 1 on the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks. The upcoming season promises to escalate the competition into an even more intense battle of culinary prowess."
The first season, which premiered on September 17, 2024, and went on till October 8, 2024, captivated audiences with its thrilling mix of fierce competition and creative challenges. Judges Baek Jong-won, a renowned restaurateur, and Michelin-starred chef Ahn Sung-jae brought their culinary expertise to the judging table.
The show featured a wide cast of 100 chefs, including 80 local contestants, known as the Black Spoon chefs, and 20 celebrity chefs, known as the White Spoon chefs—all competing for culinary supremacy.

The announcement also confirmed that key figures from season 1 of Culinary Class Wars, including directors Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji, alongside writer Mo Eun-sol from Studio Slam, will return to helm the second season. Expressing their gratitude for the support, the production team stated they are committed to returning the viewers' love and meeting fan expectations in the next season.
