On Thursday, September 19, the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) announced that BTS Jungkook's documentary, I AM STILL debuted as the highest-grossing cinema event by a K-pop idol. The documentary made Korean Box Office history with $198,756, surpassing the record that was previously held by BTS' SUGA for his Agust D's D-DAY Tour: The Movie.

Fans have been over the moon after the announcement. They took to social media to shower the idol with praises and congratulated him on his recent milestone. Additionally, fans also stated that the achievement was expected and well-deserved as many loved the I AM STILL documentary. Here are a few reactions from fans on the same:

Many netizens also commented on the holidays negatively affecting the documentary film's sales, stating that it would have performed even better if it was released some other time.

"I think it could’ve been a lot bigger but it was a huge holiday (chuseok) week and Koreans love traveling outside of the country during this time too." said a user on X.
"And it would have been even higher if it wasn't released during Chuseok." stated a fan.
"THAT TOO DURING THE BIGGEST KOREAN HOLIDAY FESTIVAL...LIKE HE'S THE MOST LOVED CELEBRITY OF SK," added another fan.

BTS' Jungkook is a vocalist and dancer in the K-pop boy group that debuted under Big Hit Entertainment in 2013. Following his debut, the idol has not only worked as the group's member but has also embarked on a solo career for himself. He has rolled out a few solo tracks through BTS albums like Euphoria, My Time, etc.

Additionally, he also released a SoundCloud track, Still With You in 2020, which still stands as one of ARMYs' favorite tracks. However, he made his solo debut with the release of his single, Seven feat. Latto in July 2023. In November, he followed his debut with his first album, Golden.

While the idol is currently serving his mandatory military enlistment, he made sure to stack quite a handful of solo content for his fans. One of the pre-recorded content was the I AM STILL documentary. The movie showcases the idol's journey to stardom, the challenges he's faced, the creative progress behind his success, and more.

The movie holds clips of the idol's behind-the-scenes preparation, unseen footage, interviews, and performances from his solo career so far. It was directed by Park Jun-soo. The limited screenings for the documentary kickstarted on September 18, and were released in theaters across the world. The screenings are expected to last for a month.
