On August 26, 2024, Harper's BAZAAR Korea dropped an interview clip of BTS' Kim Seok-jin on its official YouTube channel titled "World Wide Handsome (WWH) reigns supreme in the bazaar. Wow, I like it!" During the interview, the Tonight singer-songwriter was asked to pick a song that he would like to perform at the 12th anniversary concert of BTS.
In response, the eldest member of BTS picked Spring Day from their 2017 album You Never Walk Alone. He said,
"There weren't a lot of times where Spring Day was included in the concert set list, so I will choose Spring Day."
Fans were moved by his answer, and the clip went viral online. The BTS ARMY expressed how they would start crying if the K-pop phenomenon opened their concert with Spring Day. One ARMY wrote on X,
"Not a dry eye in that stadium."
Others mentioned how the group's first concert in 2025, after the other six members returned from the military, would serve as a reunion of BTS and ARMY.
"YES PLS COS THE DAY BTS AND ARMY REUNITE IS OUR SPRING DAY," one fan wrote.
"I need to be part of the purple ocean once they sing it on their concert bro," another fan added.
"HE CHOSE SPRING DAY HE WANTS TO MAKE ME CRY??!!! DOES HE NOT KNOW I'M GONNA BE IN TEARS TO EVEN SEE A GLIMPSE OF THE 7 TANNIES ON STAGE AGAIN?!!" one other fan said.
Several admirers highlighted how much they "desperately need" the band to perform Spring Day, as 2024 hasn't been a good year so far.
"We start the concert bawling (they'd be bawling with us)," one fan commented.
"We desperately need them singing Spring day. 2024 really sucks," another fan added.
"If this really happens then that moment would be so special," another fan mentioned.
