Kim Nam-joon, aka BTS' RM, was spotted in pictures with the cast of Problematic Men, uploaded by Jun Hyun-moo on his official Instagram account on October 16, 2024. This surprise reunion with his long-term friends seemed comfortable and homely, and it has got fans feeling nostalgic about the 9-year-old program.
In the pictures, the rapport between the group is visible as they can be seen in casual indoor clothing, chatting and eating heartily. While a snap of a table showed a spread of pizzas and side dishes, Jun Hyun-moo could also be seen grilling meat for the guests. The post's caption playfully called the get-together a "secret meeting," roughly translating to,
"Secret meeting at Hyunmoo-hyung's house. Namjoon's talk 95 percent."
What further caught the attention of fans was a sped-up clip at the end, where the friends could be seen gathering around food and having a good time. RM, in particular, could be seen in a chatty mood. BTS ARMYs were delighted to find him seemingly on a break from his ongoing military enlistment ahead of BTS' j-hope's discharge from the army on October 17.
Fans majorly reminisced about the days when RM was a cast member of Problematic Men, displaying his charms and intelligence on the show. Taken aback by the long-overdue reunion, an ARMY wrote,
"OMG PROBLEMATIC MEN REUNION?!??!?"
Fans were excited, especially to see the show's cast still in touch with one another,
"omg problematic men squad still in touch," a comment read.
"JUST REALIZED ITS THEMMMMM MYGODDDDDD JOONIE IS THEIR MAKNAE, so glad they are still good friends," another ARMY wrote.
"i swear having deep long conversations with joon must be the most heartwarming and joyful experience in the whole world," a post stated.
ARMYs hope RM attends j-hope's conscription ending, which is hours away. One jokingly called the meeting a "pre-saxophone ritual," referring to RM's humorous moment from BTS' Jin's discharge day, when he played the instrument to celebrate the latter's return.
"Pre saxophone ritual???" joked an X-user.
"It looks the guys have the day free. JK and Jimin writing in Weverse late a night for them. Namjoon having a get together with friends at his home. Maybe…maybe… they are going to receive Hobi tomorrow," noted a fan.
"So he's in vacation? That means he will come to welcome hobi??" A netizen wrote.
Jun Hyun-moo was already planning on visiting BTS' RM in the military
The Problematic Men cast reunion was hinted at a few times before the team officially got together. In a new ENA talk show starring Jun Hyun-moo and Kim Ji-seok called Hyun Moo Kase, the duo invites guests, cooking customized meals for them, in a getaway atmosphere.
In July this year, when the show had just come out, Jun Hyun-Moo mentioned wanting to invite RM as a guest on the show during a production conference. As RM is currently in the military, the host went on to say he would like to prepare what the BTS member likes, saying,
"I want to prepare the food that RM likes. (After he is discharged from the military) I will prepare 'jjambbap' that he will miss."
The show's PD, Moon Tae-joo, who also looked forward to meeting the Domodachi rapper, good-naturedly added that he would like to take a business trip to the military and cook for the idol if it could be allowed.
"We can visit RM in his military unit instead of waiting for him to be discharged. We can go on a trip through the concept of the TV show and provide food for the soldiers at his base. If they give me permission, I want to do it with the help of the other Problematic Men cast." (Translation via X/KNJsSource)
Furthermore, earlier in August, in an episode of Hyun Moo Kase, Jun Hyun-moo brought up the topic of the 30-year-old BTS idol again. This time, he revealed the team would visit RM, not as a vacation but as a casual visit with no cameras. He joked about how he would post about it on Instagram, while Kim Ji-seok divulged Nam-joon himself, inviting the host for a visit.
While Jun Hyun-moo revealed it was through a text message that he was invited, Kim Ji-seok stated that despite receiving a lot of texts, the former promptly replied to the BTS rapper's message. The team praised RM, as Ha Seok-jin, who also featured on the show, called him "sincere" and recalled how he came to greet the team during a year-end event.
Jun Hyun-moo reminisced about how he jokingly asked if RM would play the saxophone upon the Problematic Men team's visit, alluding to the time RM played the saxophone at Jin's discharge, making media headlines. According to him, the BTS leader agreed to it.
"I even made a joke. 'If Problematic Men members went to visit, would you play saxophone like you did at Jin's discharge?' He said he would. It was a joke but he cares about us that much. I guess I'm reminded of Rap Monster."
Their care and love for BTS' RM were further cemented when Kim Ji-seok and Ha Seok-jin called the idol a maknae to the Problematic Men members as they went on talking affectionately about him.
In other news, BTS' RM's documentary film Right People, Wrong Place was recently invited to the 29th Busan International Film Festival. It premiered under the Open Cinema section, while the film's distributing partners CJ 4DPLEX revealed during an earlier conference about their plans to release the docu-film across 3,000 screens worldwide, starting this December.
Right People, Wrong Place is a chronicle of RM's late twenties right before he enters the military. It also takes fans on an 8-month journey behind the creation of his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person.
