On November 29 and December 6, 2024, BTS' V unveiled Winter Ahead (featuring Park Hyo-shin) and a rendition of Bing Crosby's White Christmas, respectively. The former track was accompanied by two music videos shared on HYBE LABEL's official YouTube channel.
Following the release of Winter Ahead, the track reached the No.1 position on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 75 regions. It peaked at 86th place on the United Kingdom's Official Singles Chart and subsequently debuted at the No.99 position on the Billboard Hot 100. BTS' V enlisted for mandatory military service on December 11, 2023. After concluding five weeks of basic military training, he underwent an additional three weeks of training at the Army Administration School.
