On August 7, 2024, fans were thrilled to see South Korean actor Lee Dong-wook and SHINee’s Choi Min-ho, known as Minho, at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They arrived in Paris a day earlier with professional volleyball player Kim Yeon-kyung.
The celebrities were spotted enthusiastically cheering for South Korea during the men’s 58kg taekwondo final at the Grand Palais, where South Korea's Park Tae-joon won gold by defeating Azerbaijan's Gashim Magomedov. Later, they were seen supporting the South Korean national table tennis team with energetic cheers.

Fans of the two celebrities took to social media to share their enthusiasm about their joint appearance. Many pointed out that actor Lee Dong-wook, known for being a devoted fan of SHINee (Minho's group), seems to be meeting each band member individually. A user on X, @tychehao wrote,

Furthermore, for those unaware, both stars had been previously recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as honorary volunteers, special guests and torch bearers for the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024.
This marked the beginning of the IOC’s "Olympic Friends" initiative, a program designed to involve notable personalities from outside the sports realm to promote the Olympics.
While the actor is already familiar with the Olympic scene, having previously represented the Winter Olympics and Paralympics PyeongChang 2018 as an ambassador, the singer-idol took on that role for the first time.
The Winter Youth Olympics Gangwon 2024 were held from January 19 to February 1, 2024, in Gangwon Province, South Korea.
