On September 6, famous actors Park Bo-young and Ahn Jae-hong were announced as the hosts of the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) opening ceremony. The event is set for October 2 at 7 PM KST and will be held at the Busan Cinema Center.
This year, the BIFF will run for 10 days from October 2 to October 11. The esteemed film festival will present 279 films in seven theaters, including the Busan Cinema Center, CGV Centum City, and Lotte Cinema Centum City.

Both Park Bo-young and Ahn Jae-hong are highly esteemed and well-respected actors in South Korea.
Park Bo-young has gained widespread recognition and acclaim for her exceptional performances in various television series, including Strong Girl Bong-soon (2017), Doom at Your Service (2021), and Daily Dose of Sunshine (2023).
Additionally, she has showcased her remarkable talent in leading roles in successful films such as Scandal Makers (2008), A Werewolf Boy (2012), and On Your Wedding Day (2018).
In 2023, she was named Gallup Korea's Television Actor of the Year. In 2024, Bo-young achieved further recognition by winning the prestigious Blue Dragon Series Awards in the 'Best Actress' category for her captivating performance in the drama Daily Dose of Sunshine.
Ahn Jae-hong, a South Korean actor, began his professional acting career in 2009. He is widely recognized for his notable roles in films like The King of Jokgu (2013), Fabricated City (2017), Time to Hunt (2020), Secret Zoo (2020), Rebound (2023).
Also, his captivating performances in the television series Reply 1988 (2015–2016), Fight for My Way (2017), and Be Melodramatic (2019) have earned lots of praise from fans as well as the critics
Ahn Jae-hong has been the recipient of several awards, including Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Blue Dragon Series Awards and the 2024 Baeksang Arts Awards for his role in Mask Girl (2023).
The 29th Busan International Film Festival Line-up
The 29th BIFF has announced five films in the ‘Korean Cinema Today - Special Premiere’ section and six drama series in the ‘On Screen’ section.
The 'Korean Cinema - Special Premiere' section presents a remarkable lineup of films, including A Girl with Closed Eyes, A Normal Family, Dirty Money, Hear Me: Our Summer, and Bogota: City of the Lost.
The BIFF 'On Screen' lineup features two international dramas, Beyond Goodbye and Born For Spotlight. In addition, four Korean dramas have been chosen for their premiere at the festival: Dong-jae, the Good or the Bastard, Gangnam B-side, Hellbound Season 2, and Way Back Love.
The festival will also present a unique opportunity for BTS fans, who are eagerly awaiting an exclusive glimpse into the artistic expression of BTS leader RM.
This year, the BIFF will feature a highly anticipated documentary on K-pop idol RM. The film chronicles the making of RM's second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, which was released in May.
Initially, director Lee Seok Joon's documentary RM: Right People, Wrong Place was under consideration for the Wide Angle section at BIFF, known for featuring a diverse collection of short films, documentaries, animations, and experimental works.
However, BIFF programmer Kang So Won explained that the film's unique combination of artistic depth and mainstream appeal ultimately earned it a spot in the prestigious Open Cinema section, which spotlights both new and internationally acclaimed films.
