Actress Park Min-young is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming project with the working title The Confidence Man, according to a report by JTBC on July 23. The drama centers around a scammer with two underlings. It is the Korean adaptation of the original Japanese production of the same name.

The Confidence Man will be directed by Nam Ki-hoon, known for his work on Big Bet and Destined With You. The script will be penned by Hong Seung-hyun, who is well known for his works such as Criminal Minds and Cheoyong. The production business, High Ground, is reportedly open to other perspectives and working on changes to the programming.

The Confidence Man: Original plot and cast

Park Min-young's upcoming project, The Confidence Man, is a Korean adaptation of the Japanese series Confidence Man JP. The original show follows the story of three credit fraudsters who band together to use any means necessary to steal money from avaricious individuals, such as money from wicked corporations or mafia lords.

Due to its immense popularity, the show was featured as a special feature for Fuji Television's 60th anniversary and was also distributed locally.

The plot revolves around Masami Nagasawa's character, Dako, who is a scammer. She hides herself in a hotel suite while hatching plans to embezzle money from ruthless affluent individuals such as yakuza bosses and nefarious businesspeople. Meanwhile, she collaborates with Richard, played by Fumiyo Kohinata, and Boku-chan, played by Masahiro Higashide.

Boku-chan is a young con artist who is modest and genuine. Richard, however, is a seasoned con artist. They work incredibly well together to carry out their goals with Boku-chan and Richard.

In 2024, Park Min-young delivered another hit with the premiere of tvN's Marry My Husband, which debuted on January 1. In the series, she portrayed the role of Kang Ji-won, a terminally sick lady whose husband murders her after she finds out about her best friend's extramarital affair.
