What happened in Parole Examiner Lee episode 7?
Episode 7 of Parole Examiner Lee starts with a flashback to when Su-beom was arrested for selling drugs in prison. Sure that Myung-seob and Chairman Ji are behind this, Lee confronts Myeong-seob and promises to stop him. Despite his efforts, Myeong-seob was released on parole.
In the present, Seo-yun investigates the scene where Jeong-hak's body is found. Meanwhile, an interesting case catches Lee's attention. Heo Eun-ji, a voice phishing scammer, received a bigger sentence than she should have and is staying in prison with her baby, Su-ah.
Eun-ji is informed that she has been put on the parole list. In case she is not let out on parole, the classification chief suggests she put her up for adoption, but Eun-ji refuses. Lee decides to meet her to learn more about her situation.
Eun-ji tells him that she ran away from home while in high school. Hungry and not knowing what to do next, she was approached by Gyeong-min, who helped her find a house and food. He also put her up for the job. After getting arrested, she found out that she was pregnant while in jail and also had Su-ah while serving her sentence.
Lee tells her that getting a license proving she can hold a job after release will help her parole. Eun-ji starts studying to make sure she gets parole. Lee then speaks to the classification chief, who confirms that Eun-ji was unaware she was committing a crime.
In this episode of Parole Examiner Lee, Won-mi's commercial shoot gets canceled because of Chairman Ji. Lee visits Hwa-ran with the contract she has been urging him to sign. However, he has added an extra demand. Hwa-ran would be required to act as Eun-ji's guardian and help her parole release.
In a flashback, Seo-yun is shown interrogating an uncooperative Myung-seob. The former starts investigating Jeong-hak's death as a murder. During his installation ceremony as director of the Ojung group, Seo-yun shows up and questions him publicly about Jeong-hak's death. Myung-seob asks Eung-jun why he is being questioned.
To this, Eung-jun responds by asking him if he was actually involved in Jeong-hak's death. Myung-seob asks Dong-hun to sue Seo-yun for defamation and spreading false information.
Hwa-ran visits Eun-ji in prison to tell her that she will be her guardian. Finding out about her alcoholic father and the absent father of Su-ah, Hwa-ran asks Eun-ji to give her their information. Ji-soon and Hwa-ran's men keep visiting Eun-ji in prison to improve her visitation points.
Myung-seob is summoned by Chairman Ji and asked if he killed Jeong-hak. Chairman Ji slaps and shows him an article connecting his return with Jeong-hak's death. He threatens to cut him off if he proves to be a hindrance to the Ojung group.
Hwa-ran finds Gyeong-min, the man who impregnated Eun-ji. Soon, Eun-ji receives a letter from Gyeong-min saying he will take care of Su-ah. Hwa-ran meets Lee. Though there is nothing evidently wrong with Gyeong-min, Hwa-ran believes something is fishy.
Hwa-ran and her men find Gyeong-min planning to use Eun-ji as a scapegoat again. In this episode of Parole Examiner Lee, Hwa-ran is shown dealing with an alcoholic and abusive father in her past. After his death, his creditors show up at the funeral and ask Hwa-ran to pay back the debt, but she refuses and starts throwing things at them. Seeing this, the creditor decides to hire her instead.
Hwa-ran visits Eun-ji and tells her that she handed Gyeong-min to the police and that Eun-ji should fight for herself and her daughter. After getting Dong-hun on his side, Myung-seob finds out about Lee stopping Chairman Ji's parole. He decides to pay him a visit as this episode of Parole Examiner Lee comes to an end.
