Parole Examiner Lee episode 9 recap: Seo-yun finds evidence against Myung-seob
Episode 9 of Parole Examiner Lee starts with Won-mi looking for a video that she recorded of Chairman Ji. At a hospital, Ji Dong-man is informed that Su-beom was attacked in the prison and had to be sent to a hospital outside the prison. Dong-man decides to wait and see what happens and decide accordingly if he wants Su-beom killed or not.
Lee is waiting for Su-beom to wake up. It is revealed that he is the one who planned the attack with Hwa-ran's help to get Su-beom out of prison. He asks Su-beom why he has been refusing visitations. Su-beom asks him to leave and tells him that was not framed. Lee refuses to believe him. He promises to help clear his name with substantial evidence.
Ji Myung-seob used to have drugs provided to him even during his sentence, and with the help of a few corrupt people, he was able to frame Su-beom and get out of jail.
Lee meets with Seo-yun to plan how to catch Dong-man since he has left prison. They think Jeong-gyun might be a reason. Just then, Seo-yun is asked to release Jeong-gyun, who she had captured in the case of Jeong-hak's death.
Dong-man is visited by Myung-seob, who is there to confirm that Dong-man is out to finish his business with Jeong-gyun. While releasing Jeong-gyun, Seo-yun gives him her card since Ojung Group would try to kill him. However, he refuses to take it.
Eung-jun tells Jeong-gyun to come to Incheon Port and leave the country from there. Right after, Myung-seob calls him and tells him that it is a plan to get him killed and that he should come see him instead.
In this episode of Parole Examiner Lee, Won-mi calls Dong-hun and tells him that she has dropped the charges and would like to have her projects back. Dong-hun informs her that it will take longer than she imagines and then starts talking about Myung-seob. Seeing her chance, she invites Dong-hun to have a meal together.
In the Sangbu prison, an inmate faints, and Chief Park takes him to the medical ward. Warden Bae is called, and seeing it to be a case of drug overdose, he gets terrified. He asks Chief Park about what happened and how many people know about it. Chief Park pulls out a pen with drugs inside it. Warden Bae, now more scared than before, rushes to his office where Lee is waiting for him.
They threaten to report the drug-filled pens to the police and get Warden Bae to narrate the reality of how Su-beom was framed. Meanwhile, Ji Dong-man waits for Jeong-gyun, who does not show up, and decides to trust Myung-seob.
As Warden Bae narrates the story, it is revealed in episode 9 of Parole Examiner Lee that Myung-seob tried to bribe Su-beom but failed. However, the package containing the money that he sent through Bae also contained the drug-filled pens. While unpacking it, Su-beom, unaware of it, had left a few of them on his desk, which led to him getting framed. To protect the rest of his team, he accepted the charges.
Bae, filled with guilt, apologized to Su-beom, who asked him to stay silent for the sake of Park Jin-cheol and Lee Han-sin. Lee and Chief Park try to convince Warden Bae to testify against Ji Dong-man and help release Su-beom.
Myung-seob brings Jeong-gyun to an abandoned place and knocks him out. Meanwhile, Seo-yun visits the club owner at whose club Myung-seob murdered her sister. Won-mi tries to get information out of Dong-hoon.
Myung-seob asks Jeong-gyun if he knows where Jeong-hak hid the evidence. Jeong-gyun refuses to answer, and Myung-seob shoots him in episode 9 of Parole Examiner Lee.
Dong-man suspects Myung-seob has something to do with Jeong-gyun not showing up. Ji-mok, along with the police, has set up barricades near Ojung Hospital to catch Dong-man.
In this episode of Parole Examiner Lee, Hwa-ran's office is attacked by Eung-jun's men while she is visiting Eun-ji. She rushes there to find Dong-man waiting for her. Baek tries to fight Eung-jun but is overpowered. Dong-man threatens Hwa-ran, but she refuses to budge and spits on his face. Enraged, he beats her with a stick and has to be stopped by Eung-jun. Hwa-ran, though injured, bites one of his men and calls him names.
After getting some information from the club owner, Seo-yun figures out where the drive with evidence about Myung-seob is. She finds the cross Jeong-hak wears around his neck and discovers a pen drive inside. While checking the contents of it, she finds the video of her sister, Da-yun, getting murdered.
Ji-mok stops Eung-jun to check his car but does not find Dong-man inside. He informs Lee of the same. With Myung-seob's intel, Lee finds that Dong-man is directly returning to the prison, not the hospital. He asks Seo-yun to check the surveillance cameras. Dong-man had changed cars and decided to take a taxi to the prison.
Lee races to the prison and, seeing the taxi, slightly crashes into it deliberately. While talking to the driver about insurance, he also records Dong-man being in the taxi and out of prison. With this, episode 9 of Parole Examiner Lee ends.
The next episode of Parole Examiner Lee is scheduled to be released on December 17.
